Dead MU*s you remember fondly
-
@shit-piss-love - Oh shoot, same here. Marrach was my mainstay for a lot of years with LC on the side. I’ll admit I even gave Ironclaw County a go. Don’t shame me

It’s cool I played a lot of Grendel the first month or two.
When did you play Marrach?
-
@shit-piss-love - Roughly 2005 - 2019 actively. A bit until 2022 by ending the character’s story with dramatics. Have kept in touch with a few of the players and the coder.

Huh we might have crossed paths. I played Duraze, the first Inquisitor-Major.

We might have just about. If you were around when Xanadorian was? For sure a little bit! I played Anton, the first Royal Tailor.

Anton definitely sounds familiar but I think we ran in different circles. By then I was sort of just reactivating every couple years for a few months to do a cameo, and mostly circulated with a few people I knew from the game’s beta period and first couple years.
I loved that game’s setting, the format of being bottled together in the castle, and the deep focus on courtly life and virtues. Really nothing else like it.
-
@YetiBeard I used to play at CoMUX. Right after the game formed from HeroMUX’ ashes.
-
I miss Serenity MUSH from before TPO Frost passed away. It was so amazing in its Hayday, for me anyway.
-
@shit-piss-love - Yeah I think we might have just floated around each other back when Geist was head staffer. Found them an excellent storyteller, world builder and very fair towards players - if I recall right IRL they still work in the tabletop industry as a Professsor of it somewhere.
But yeah, really awesome setting. Called itself a MUD, barely was that with the intrigue focus and courtly life.

I have to pour out a couple of drinks here, so here we go.
Pacific Rim Mu* - Amazing concept base, great build off the established world. Great storyteller.
X-Factor Mu - Goddamn fun time. Met some good friends there.
-
@Gashlycrumb Aw Gash. We had some good times there. hat tip, Viggo.

I miss playing with you on X-Factor. ;_;
-
@helvetica I miss playing with you IN GENERAL.
-
@SpaceKhomeini Haha, I think 13 was the top? I don’t remember now.
No secrets alts but as many alts as you please worked well, really.
-
Fear&Loathing (I played Bigby the Bear and Ossius/Skullface)
I really enjoyed the people I got to play with, and never had any weird experiences. But I left - as I always do - due to work, I tried signing in one day and just couldn’t.

I just got an email from livejournal for a pern lj I kept in 2007 (apparently a ‘friend’ is celebrating their 15 year lj anniversary). Pern mushes and livejournal. I did sooo much writing associated with those games.
