      A new subreddit has appeared - r/mudcirclejerk

I will be honest with you all. It’s basically r/MUD but without the sanctimonious mass-deletions for “drama”. Many people feel as though the mods over at r/MUD hinder important community discussions. It’s important to be able to warn the community about bad actors and games that allow abusive activity.

Additionally, it’s a place to poke fun at all the weird that pops up in this hobby - and there’s a lot of weird.

Tez graciously gave me permission to post here, so if anyone is interested in checking it out I would appreciate it a lot!

I moved this to Game Gab, because I don’t expect it to be contentious and it’s a comment about the broader hobby.

I know I’m not the only one who reads r/mud, and I’m not surprised to see another subreddit pop up for this discussion over there. There was a post recently, what I thought was a good post, on Community Safety and Mud Administration addressing the proliferation of alt-right extremists. I was very disappointed to see the mods of r/mud greet it with a message saying there was a new ‘No Drama’ rule.

        Anyway, welcome, and good luck.

@Tez Thank you, I was probably being overcautious. The post you linked was exactly the kind of thing that prompted me to start a satellite community. It was an excellent post, polite, prudent, and mature. Having to walk on eggshells around mods just to have that discussion didn’t sit right with me.
