A: What staffer in their right mind is going to want to ONLY “work” on a game, rather than play it? Of course they should be able to have player characters for their own enjoyment. Otherwise, staffing is a thankless job.

B: Everyone who plays on any game should be able to expect a level of privacy, which includes not having to disclose to the general population who their alt characters might be. Staff will always be able to know whose alts are whose based on IP, requests, and alt policies, but that information should be kept private unless the player has chosen to make it public. This should include staff-player characters.

Unasked C : Staff who are playing NPCs or plot-specific characters central to the main story or plot, should disclose who they are, so that players can contact the staffer in control of that character for plot needs and information.

@Warma-Sheen I think that depends a lot on how easy to navigate your grid is, or how accessible the locations you might want to visit are. And I guess this is largely dependent on the type of game; I’ve been on plenty of Star Wars games where the grids were expansive, but people pretty much only stuck to Spaceports and Spaceport-Adjacent Cantinas, in no small part (though I’ll fully agree that the “space” aspect keeps people close to ships, etcetera) because figuring out how to get to the deeper locations is confusing. In this kind of case, I think having a grid chock full of “filler” rooms can be more of a detriment than a benefit. Yes, you can ignore them, but unless there’s a handy system for teleporting to favourite locations, you’re still stuck navigating through them to get where you want to go.

    • What's up with the two Age of Heroes games?

Clearly different games by different people; one has a domain, one is using an Ares subdomain. What’s the story here? Two houses, both alike in dignity, or…?

I mean, I kind of hope there’s some spicy drama beneath this. Two rival groups both refusing to give up the name to the other, playing the long game in the hopes that the other will tire and throw in the towel?

I may be stirring the pot unnecessarily, but rather than log in and ask directly, I’m hoping that the conjecture and assumptions of the uninvolved masses will prove more entertaining.
