This is the problem. It’s not asshattery, locker room talk, jokes, or floating the grey area. It’s toxic vitriol targeted at a group of people. Even if we pretend that it’s for humour, the punchline is still ME or people like me.

Behavior I never defended. Or seek to defend. I said, in responding to ‘[You had issues with him too]’ that my issues with him were different and didn’t compare to sexual harassment.

That’s the only distinction I was making.

I saw Zephyr’s post and I still see a lot of it covering what other people did. All she said about me that is defensible is that I also shared concerns about some asshattery–Which I did/do still have as opinions. Other people are the ones calling this PR. I’m not here to throw a blanket over a dumpster fire. I’m just not eager to ignore the dumpster fire, either.

Someone sends me a link to this thread, with a lot of information I didn’t know about. I can either ignore it, or, I can try and get in on the discussion and find out why I didn’t know.

Don’t get me wrong: I knew showing my face would be putting blood in the water. I accept that. But that wasn’t going to change in time.

I’m here trying to be part of the conversation. I’m not here to defend the actions of other people (though I am willing to defend mine), and I’m not here to call people liars. I’m just here.

@GF First I would have to have any idea who made the complaints, and I think we all know why me suddenly asking for the names of accusers might have pretty bad optics.

Nobody is going to believe me if I suddenly show up on scene, telling everyone, “Hey guys! Banshee is here! You’re all safe now!” That would be hilariously dumb. I also can’t make that promise yet. I never said those things because I can’t deliver those things. I can’t provide restitution for the people who were hurt.

I cannot undo what has happened. I don’t think I can even provide some measure of comfort to people that were wronged. But someone in the community is here, putting themselves out there for the discussion. So if you want to discuss this, there you go. If you don’t, that’s fine too.

Also, I never promised that I was good at this. I never pretended to be an expert.

@64bitjedi This is pretty much going how it always goes. Cujo comes under attack, the game comes under attack, and instead of Cujo addressing it, he sends you. You put on airs that you’re the “safe person,” that you are there to “look out for us,” and then you tell Cujo and Cujo exacts his revenge quietly through bans, nukes, and removal of contributions.

It always goes this way, and you need to stop being his enforcer if you actually care about remediation and have him address his accusers.

People have been banned from the game for this behavior. Every instance of harassment I have been made aware of has had investigations done and determinations made.

The incident of discussion was overseen by Cujo and Zephyr, and my understanding after the ruling was that it was done to their satisfaction. Subsequent incidents were not brought to my attention until this thread was sent my way.

@Jennkryst It was also meant to suggest my methodology with this stuff. Professions were always designed around a specific ratio of credits earned to xp spent. If someone spent 185 xp on a prof, and that profession only had one skill, they would be getting the maximum paycheck of 1110 credits, and would have a ratio of 6 credits for every xp spent. We had designed that number lower, and then changes were made to the economy and we brought the ratio up to 6 to offset the credit loss of other avenues.

Yes, EVERYONE’s credit earned to xp spent ratio went up, from 3 to 6. Not just Bounty Hunter. I may not have been very clear.

I only knew of one, myself. The target of said harassment was an individual that I have never gotten along with. Other staffers were able to and did investigate it. They even made a determination. But, I recused myself because I feared I lack impartiality. With other staff tapped to handle it readily available, it seemed the respectful thing to do. Any involvement from my part would only invite further vitriol.

1. Because nospoof exists, and nobody has suggested to me that was happening.
2. I don’t know who set that up or why.
3. On March 11 2020, we posted an update to the Force Skills specific +attacks. AFTER the conclusion of the referenced scene (in which I realized it had not changed), on August 17 2020, I posted an update, stating: o +sinfo electrokinesis now reflects the intended update from March in its text. It is entirely possible I forgot to make these updates to the helpfile themselves.
   This post still exists, and the timeline associated with it. The update was made after the conclusion of the scene and posted publicly for all to see. Heck, you can still see that post. +bbread 8/128.
4. I dont recall +force/deflect being modified, other than turning it off when we added the more robust command of +attack/deflect.
5. My understanding was the claim regarding a member of staff setting Blu suspect was done by a very brief and former HeadWiz of the game. Blu and I have a history, and it is possible nobody told me about this or the spying on her private scenes because I would have responded poorly to them doing that.
6. Because I don’t do everything he tells me to do.
