The current story line we’re doing is finding a kingdom and having an ‘enemy’ starting to get really active. A special request for people to play the ‘bad guys’ is given with reward things for it. The post:

The next major plot point for Atharia is to reveal Ren to be a villain. He is likely a part of the Council of the Devoted. I repeatedly say that I don’t really hide what is intended to happen, even if I don’t give all the details. What happens to Ren will depend on players (kill him, convert him, save him, etc).

I explained all that for a reason. My semi-plan is that Ren is the current leader of the Council of the Devoted. What I would like is a couple people willing to play members of the Council, publicly known as such. This means the character will be a villain and likely temporary, though, I am not against the character becoming permanent if people end up enjoying the story line for the character, which will likely be a redemption arch to where they ‘become Good’ (or at least an anti-hero type) since sometimes people have issues with getting into scenes with villains.

You can totally be part of the Council on a current character that gets exposed along with Ren or before him. IF you’re worried your character concept won’t work, we can figure it out to make it happen.

My ideal would be at least 1 sub-leader and 2 or 3 ‘general members’.

As this will be a temporary character (unless you decide otherwise), 50% of any XP you earn on the character can be transferred to an alt, if you desire. If you don’t care about the XP we can discuss alternative ideas for a ‘reward’ for playing a character that is destined to be ‘dealt with’ in some form. Rewards can be anything, within reason. It can be you can ask for a plot line that is strictly geared for your character, work out an angle of getting a position you would like for your alt, you can add some specific details to theme files that you feel would add to the game (subject to review and possible modifications if it is to off theme), etc. If it works for the game IC or OOC, I’m willing to talk it over. You can play more than 1 Council member but the ‘reward’ only applies once. So, if you play 5 characters the reward will be once over all not once for each character.

These temporary characters can absolutely be Children of Gods but it needs to fit with the alts rules. That is to say, if you have a Child of Gods PC already, the temporary one can not be one. This is so that if you decide you enjoy playing the character’s story you don’t need to give up either character unless you want too.

The ability to go beyond available CG points is no longer a thing. We’ve transferred everything over.

On marriagey things and preferences: On Atharia you can be any gender and marry any gender. Each kingdom has their tradition (like 1 is patriarchy, one is eldest, one is whatever child, one is matriarchy, another is trial by combat, another wealth and power, another democratic, and the last by merit) with minor differences by families in the kingdoms. None of the genders are considered ‘less’ it is simply a ‘The first ruler was this so this is the way it will be’. Each gender BAby-prevention is flawless so there is no surprise baby since both parents need to actively make the choice.

For how Cobalt wants to use Simple Inventory there is a small problem: All items need to be added via the admin panel on the website. So, players can’t really use it as something to craft without putting in a request for their cool item to be added. I have the 3 plugins Cobalt wants installed on Atharia. I considered using it to simulate crafting too but that The ‘money’ is connected to Luck. I didn’t look to hard on how easy/hard it would be to change its currency.

I am not a fan of pregnancy RP but sometimes it can help stories along for plots or people (people being those that find RPing about babies and stuff fun). To have to jump through hoops to ‘have a child’ is not my cup of tea. Unless once you eat this fruit you are for sure going to have the spawn child you want, I don’t find the idea appealing.

On Atharia I basically went ‘Baby prevention is flawless. Both people involved take a pill (I think that is what I decided) and have pretty much have all their life. Both need to decide not to take it for a spawn child to be born. There is no ‘surprise baby’ for people. (I forget exactly how I phrased it and am lazy to look)’ I feel like I addressed the ‘surprise you’re a parent!’ issue people like to do. I did leave in the option for people to decide to have a bastard child but the parents have actively made the choice to have one, making them the scandal, not the child. The child is accepted and treated as their station dictates (a child born of a noble and commoner union, for example, can be either noble or common, depending on the parents decisions/contracts) by Atharia’s society while the parents get the backlash. They are actively making the choice to have the child.

Since Atharia is on a new code base, my health is behaving, and I rewrote stuff. I’m making a new post. At the bottom I’ll include current plots, staff wants, and any currently important details.

The world of Atharia is quite fantastical. It is home to four kingdoms (potentially more), meddling Gods, mythical creatures, and mortals living with a curse placed on them by a very petty God. There are many things people can opt to do such as play the political game as nobles, explore the world and find interesting things, landmarks, creatures or anything else. Amongst the mortals of the world are people who have a parent as a God, they are known as Children of Gods. Come join us on Atharia and help form the world. Should the current problems get solved, more will surely pop up.

Atharia is a casual Fantasy Lords and Ladies game that utilizes the AresMUSH code system. We have a variety of roster characters that people can choose from or make their own. At the moment there is little in the way of restrictions on the types of characters that can be made. Staff is open to discussion on theme changes and ideas with the caveat that what is suggested might not be used or it might not be exactly what was envisioned.

This is a list of what characters staff would like to see played. The suggestions can be comboed or not used at all. We’re just looking to help people get into the game as easily as possible. You do not need to be a ‘long term’ player. You can come in as new for any of these suggestions.

• Anyone on the Roster
• Echo’s Child - Any gender, any kingdom. Echo, the Eighth God, would likely have chosen the parent of the Child because the parent did something that interested Echo.
• Mataya and Ossian’s Children - Any gender works. These two are unlikely to be enemies but could be friends, siblings, a couple, friendly rivals but it is unlikely they will have an adverse relationship due to the blood of their god parents. The preference is that the characters come in a pair. This can either be as 2 players (you can approach people already playing and not a Child, yet) or talking to staff about making one an NPC.
• Children of Gods - You can be a Child of any God. No gender or concept preference. Mataya and Ossian’s Children are explained above.
• Members of the Holy Order of Knights - This is a relatively new organization and is considered the protectors of the Seat of Gods. Any rank, any gender, any concept. We are open to the possibility of someone apping in as the Grand Master.
• Military Folk - There hasn’t been many of these about. Any rank, any gender, any concept.
• Combat Types - Any sort of combat type.
• Nobility from any kingdom, titled would be especially welcome.
• Scholars - The types who can become (or are) Sages for royals and noble families.
• Knights, Sages, Baronets - Each royal family has a Baronet, Knight, and Sage - with a House created as an official family. Each noble family has one of these too.
• Courtesans - Debutantes and full Courtesans.
• Clergy - All the Gods.
• The Divine Ambassador - This person leads the Conclave of Divine Guidance

What we want is not limited to what is listed here. It is mere suggestions we could think of at the time.

Currently, while I am transferring characters from our old code base to the new one, there is no limit on how many points you spend in CG as long as you are reasonable about it (AKA you don’t need to make everything) and leave your character space to grow. I still have a couple rooms to describe, since I changed the grid around during the transfer of everything, and obviously not all characters are moved over, yet. People who want to return can 100% transfer their character over. For currently active characters, that haven’t created yet on Ares Atharia, I’ve restricted the names. Just nudge me to remove them for you.

I have transferred the grid and theme stuff to Atharia on Ares and fiddled code (mostly my awesome coder did the fiddling when she had time).

CG has been tested and people can now make characters. How I am currently handling character stuff:

While I am in the middle of transferring characters from PennMUSH Atharia to Ares Atharia players who wish to transfer their character (even returning people), or new characters, can go beyond the limitations in CG. I am not restricting how much beyond the CG points limits people can go as long as they are being reasonable about it. Once people stop being reasonable, I will start restricting.

The character transfer process will be:

1. Roster characters
2. Retired characters
3. Active Characters who are not being done by a player.

Basically, if you want to reach for the stars in your CG stuff, as a returning, new, or current player, now is a good time. I am not concerned about people being overpowered as long as they make sure to let others shine.

The theme stuff is about as well as I expect from a mu* focused on the sex. I just cant get passed the age stuff. The way it presents like they will even allow toddlers.

I’ve had a couple times of this post on Atharia. I typically don’t care if people post their games on Atharia (though) I do prefer a responding post of my game on theirs but I’m not really going to be bothered if one doesn’t repost. I won’t be heartbroke.

The reason that I explain this is because I feel that Elysium needs a bit of warning for people. Not because it is a sexmu*, that is whatever,its one of the… rules? Theme? Not sure. But I feel it is important to be shared in case someone is not comfortable with it. @Rinel You are not policing anything by just telling staff what a person is doing feels sketchy to you. You are just giving information for them to decide how they handle it.

We decided to switch Atharia to Ares recently. I have, with the help of my people, moved almost everything over to the new server. We will be moving all characters over so if people have some and they want to redo their character or just check it out since it is now more accessible to people.

Jeffeth once (dunno if he still does) had a hammer from my character Sameera because they were friends. MY grumpy, people disliker was actually nice to him, if I recall. And she left him her butterfly hammer when she passed.

I am reading the policies and under idle you have ‘Characters who have posted a scene in for 30 days will be set to ‘Gone’.’ I am guessing it is suppose to be ‘have not posted a scene for 30 days’.

I feel a bit bad. I see all the emits and how people talk about stuff going on and think it would be fun. However, I don’t feel invested, at all. I am pretty certain it is because most of what is talked about I don’t understand. I don’t really do much for combat characters so I don’t sign up for much cause a lot of the bigger plot stuff has combat focused. I also would rather ‘give up’ a spot I would take to people who are invested and know all the stuff going on. I am not big on huge scenes anymore, can’t handle them like I did when I was younger… I also know if I go to the ‘info dump’ scenes people do, I’ll get overwhelmed and confused.

I /want/ to feel invested, I just don’t for above reasons.
