    SEASON: Redemption
    LAUNCH DATE: February 24th
THEME: Alternate Reality Western (not set in the real world)

Redemption began as a small mining camp in the new province of the Northern Reach. With the recent completion of the railroad and rail station, the town has seen a boom as the mines have brought in more revenue, the ranches have seen expansion and prosperity, and explorers have continued to push further north into the forests, foothills, and mountains to the north. But with great prosperity and growth comes an influx of new people which brings not only possibility, but problems. Clashes between established settlers and newcomers, big companies and those they’ve pushed aside or who want the resources that they can provide, outlaw gangs and the law, and people and the very elements and environment are common.

Whether one is coming to Redemption to find peace, running from something, seeking adventure, wanting to make their fortune, or get revenge; no one can avoid getting swept up in the conflict in one way or another. Everyone from the butcher, to the baker, to the candlestick maker is connected with one or another group vying for influence within the town. Then of course, there are the rumors, the myths, the legends. How many of them are true and how much is just folklore? Is there more to worry about in the mountains than just one another? Can anyone find their redemption in this frontier town? Or will this be the literal end of the line?

So this has been becoming something of a habit for me, and I think it’s become a useful tool in taking a gauge from players because it doesn’t track names or who even wrote the response. I created a Google Poll some months back looking for responses on how events have been run. I’ve since expanded that to include more questions revolving around the game itself. I’ve noticed a number of people prefer anonymity when wishing to give feedback.

And because I know that not all of 7N’s players use the Discord(for which I completely understand why), I’m also putting it on the game and also here since a number of players that play also read this forum. So I’m putting it here as well.

Also, there are a number of questions that can also apply to folks who haven’t played but have eyeballed the wiki. So if you’re willing to give feedback, I’m certainly not opposed and would be welcome to it.

Anyhow, I appreciate anyone who has a couple minutes to spare, be you a player or not. In the end, I think this is a good way to not only make the game better, but myself better as a game runner.

It’s been a while but wanted to post another Update!

We are continually learning and adapting and ironing out kinks. After experimenting with some fun sandboxy themes were are excited to announce our next Plot-Driven theme which is set to officially start on October 29th.

Shadows Over New York will be a 1920s, fully powered setting. You can read the full timeline page here: https://elseverse.aresmush.com/wiki/timeline:earth-son

The big apple in the 1920’s: a proliferation of illegal alcohol, smoke, jazz, and a certain lack of concern for the law. After all, the cops are in on it. The criminals are in on it. Hell, even the heroes ain’t all saints in this City. Day by day, it only seems to get a little darker, a little weirder, and a little less safe for those who try to only walk in the light.

There’s a well-known speakeasy for those of a certain nature, just a flight of steps down from a Manhattan subway entrance and a few blocks away from the Flatiron Building. They call it Limitless. A thing that will last no matter the change in the ever growing rush of the city.

It’s for the heroes, the villains, the cops who steal and the cops who rise above, to put aside their allegiances - at least for a drink.

Yet as the City grows darker, those who live at its fringes, both the highest peaks and the lowest lows, must come together to navigate a new threat beyond day to day crime and conviction. They must fight the shadows that threaten to swallow the city whole, a horror that has no name, no known origin, but creeps insidiously as a rat along a pipe. It wants to swallow the City.

It’s up to them to stop it. Or embrace it. One way or another, the City is never gonna be the same.
