More options to 'upvote'?

Maybe not necessarily bring back the downvote (though if it was popular opinion to bring it back, cool). But (and maybe I’m the only one that feels/thinks like that which is cool too), I feel weird ‘upvoting’ some of the more serious posts. I wish there was something more like facebook/discord/etc where we can ‘upvote’ something but maybe ‘sad upvote’ or ‘mad upvote’ or something to differentiate between ‘this post is GREAT!’ and ‘hey this is a sad thing, here’s an internet hug’.

Took a look at this and tried to install but ran into issues with dependencies. I posted on their forum for help. In the meantime, stay tuned, but even if we do allow this, we will probably want to make sure that it can be tuned so that, say, no one can reply to this with a knife emoji if I can’t get it work.

@Tez yeah. I didn’t look for whether it allowed an array of emojis or emoji restriction, but that would definitely be a good way to implement it.

I actually don’t know that it needs a disapproval emoticon, if we have already decided on down votes being gone. I think like, a restricted:

Yessssss. Positive or positive adjacent (sympathy) only I think. Disagreement/negative, when it needs to happen, can be done using words (or big gifs). No need for the negatives to be brainlessly easy; supportiveness being thoughtless-adjacent is OK.
