Non-AoA Star Wars Games

There is this one:
https://swrestorationmush.com/
I did not get on with it myself, as they have a strange policy of making you develop hooks with existing characters and include them in your application before you can be approved, which I did not enjoy.
However, strange policies aside, it seemed active, and the people there seemed to be having fun. It’s rated three stars on Ares central, so relatively good for activity.

I admit, I’ve slacked off trying to figure out Evennia for this, and should get back to it at some point.

gonna have to concur about Restoration, at least from my experience when I gave it a shot earlier this year. the app process was incredibly weird beyond just the ill-advised mandatory character hooks; they made a point on the site about how you can contribute to defining the species stunt if no one has played a particular species before?
yeah, that entire back and forth was on a public channel. the staffer shot down every incredibly mild suggestion I made, then put up their own version and demanded feedback, which they then criticized. like…dude, I don’t know you? or what your expectations for this process are? it was bizarre and performative, especially on channel like that, like they were just trying to make strangers coming to their table feel dumb, and after that taste of what future interactions would probably be like I walked away without finishing the app.
just fair warning.

How uncharacteristic of Star Wars fandom!

My own experience thus far: I’ve run across some patient, helpful folk - and yes, a few stalwart and downright obstinate sorts. So, in essence, a small-scale version of what I encounter on other, larger games.
I’m happy to say the character generation process, from exposure to a new system to completion, was done in about twenty-four or so hours, and my one real gripe is their wiki is non-intuitive, although I am so very, very biased about a game’s wiki being accessible, updated, and transparent whenever possible.
Top marks for updated and transparent, low grade for accessible. It’s like learning Sanskrit. 0/10, would make Wario cry.

So far my biggest real issue with the place is, to be perfectly blunt (sorry):
The absolute retina-searing white of the web portal/wiki.
Please do not do this. It burns.
YoOL 2023, Dark Mode or bust!
-
@SpaceKhomeini Their wiki was not designed by someone who liked them much.
-
But yeah, in all fairness I’m still in Chargen Hell but that’s because I’m just chronically busy and indecisive. So far the people I’ve dealt with have been super-chill and constructively responsive.
This is important to note because it’s not like I didn’t have an entire manifesto’s worth of negative observations about AoA’s Cujo after 20 minutes of talking to that sloppy asshole.

I played Star Wars Restoration briefly, I found both players and staff to be helpful and friendly. For me the biggest issue was more the changes they’d made to setting, specifically their Jedi stuff.

@Warma-Sheen Duly noted on the quality thing, and thanks.
-
@Warlander I know someone else already posted about this but just an update that Pax Republica is now open for apps and play, and things are going pretty well.

@EDI7078 Thanks for the heads-up. I’m already playing there, and have been enjoying the place.
