Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo
-
A lot of us are more interested in knowing why nothing has been done about the multiple harassment complaints against Hadrix specifically.

I only knew of one, myself. The target of said harassment was an individual that I have never gotten along with. Other staffers were able to and did investigate it. They even made a determination. But, I recused myself because I feared I lack impartiality. With other staff tapped to handle it readily available, it seemed the respectful thing to do. Any involvement from my part would only invite further vitriol.

See also: weekly +paycheck also pulling percentages based on the skills, but the careers being in no way balanced. Some careers need 20 skills, but pay less than another that only needs 8?
Or maybe they finally fixed that.
From its conception, my code has always been balanced around a specific target number of credits earned per xp spent. This has never been true.
Never been true, you say? Be a shame if there were convenient screenshots from someone who chose
violencepedantry to disprove this.Let’s start with Bounty Hunter, because… Boba Fett.
So you can see the payscale between December of 2015 and 2020 are (practically) the same (it actually goes down from 13,500 to 13,080, corrected in the edit). No new skills were added, so it is consistent. The standard!
How about… Courtesans?
Some skills were changed, but just the names. Nothing added. So if the code has always been balanced, why need to raise be weekly paycheck from 4,500 to 14,430?
And how about Explorers?
No skill change AT ALL, no new skills added. But they jump from 4,500 to 13,320.
So it may be balanced around a specific number of credits earned per XP spent. But it very much has not always been the case.
Edit for accuracy re: Bounty Hunter payscale.
Double edit because I can’t read, but I am leaving this up for posterity - mixed up 13 and 31. Damn me for giving myself more work here.
The third edit, because I still can’t read, explorer vs engineer

@64bitjedi At one point the target number went from being 3, to 6, yes. That’s the “ratio” number you have there.

@64bitjedi Okay, let’s say that you only knew of one. You know about the rest, now. What’s up? What’s the next move? Continue to stake your name and reputation in the hobby in support of these obvious problem elements? Push for any kind of accountability on the game you help maintain? We know you’re not fully ignoring it all because you’re here.
-
@64bitjedi Current code means nothing. You said ‘this has never been different’ and I demonstrably proved it was.
Particularly since if x3 and not x6, Bounty Hunter should have only made 15…
(This is the moment I realized I done fucked up/misread the screenshot, but will begin a new hunt to continue to prove pedantry anyway)

I don’t honestly know what the next step is. I can’t tell you how to take something like this, and the people involved, and make everyone feel better about what’s happening. I don’t know what the next step is because I don’t know what people want, here. I know somehow I have a game full of people that have to feel like they are safe, each and every day after this all came to light. And that’s an uphill battle that is adding a lot to my brainpower.
But, here I am opening myself up to the forum. I don’t know what the next step is. I’m making this up as I go along.

Yes, EVERYONE’s credit earned to xp spent ratio went up, from 3 to 6. Not just Bounty Hunter. I may not have been very clear.

@64bitjedi Of the staff on AoA, three people are the ones that brought forth the evidence regarding the abuse I believe. That leaves Cujo, Banshee, Yeti, Hadrix-the accused, and what? One other staffer? If you excused yourself from the investigation, which staffers were tasked with looking into the abuse complaints?

You know what the next step is, because it’s the step Cujo never has taken ever since he sold the game for a fedora and Selkie had to come in and save it:
He needs to put on his big boy pants and actually address these issues to this community.
-
@Jennkryst It was also meant to suggest my methodology with this stuff. Professions were always designed around a specific ratio of credits earned to xp spent. If someone spent 185 xp on a prof, and that profession only had one skill, they would be getting the maximum paycheck of 1110 credits, and would have a ratio of 6 credits for every xp spent. We had designed that number lower, and then changes were made to the economy and we brought the ratio up to 6 to offset the credit loss of other avenues.
-
@64bitjedi I mean, if I were you I would cut ties with this mess. Maybe you could help build something worthwhile with some of these players who are dedicated to making a better, more socially responsible game.
You fucked up but as far as I can tell, you’re not actively being predatory? So just own that you shouldn’t have looked the other way, stop being shady with game mechanics, and don’t look the other way anymore.

The incident of discussion was overseen by Cujo and Zephyr, and my understanding after the ruling was that it was done to their satisfaction. Subsequent incidents were not brought to my attention until this thread was sent my way.
-
@64bitjedi So Cujo and Zephyr looked into it, and Cujo decided it wasn’t worth his trouble and fired Zephyr rather than address the problem. That tracks.
-
OH WAIT, I DONT HAVE TO FIND ANYTHING.
If it truly went from x3 to x6 ratio… why are engineer and courtesan different? They both earned 4,500 despite courtesan requiring one more skill. The change in pay is reflected in the more recent +paycheck calculation, but it was not there in the original.
Change proven.
And to be an extra pedant. Cook.
Goes from 500 a week, to 5,500. That is nowhere close to a simple 3 vs 6 ratio. To not even dig into the math to try to figure out where you’re getting that ratio from.

@64bitjedi said in Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo:
- My understanding was the claim regarding a member of staff setting Blu suspect was done by a very brief and former HeadWiz of the game.
It was done by Cujo. She said so in her post.

When the people who will defend others leave a space, that space gets worse. People need to know there is someone they can report this stuff to. We’ve done it with other instances. People have been banned from the game for this behavior. Every instance of harassment I have been made aware of has had investigations done and determinations made.
-
@Roadspike She said she couldn’t report spying on her private scene with Cujo because it was Cujo. Maybe she meant both–You know better than me.
-
@64bitjedi Those who support and defend predators are no better than the predators themselves. If you now believe and understand that there is predatory behavior there, you should either do something about it, or leave and counsel others to do the same. To do otherwise is to be silent about the missing stair, which is detrimental everyone participating in the game and to our hobby as a whole. It leads to people being surprised by predators, taken advantage of, and hurt.
Edit to add:

You’re right, I do know better than you, because I actually read what she wrote. Cujo was the one dark, in the room, watching her TS.
