Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo
-
@Noraaa It’s easy to look back after the fact and say - that person was abusive. However you have to remember some of these people are so damn good at being charismatic.
People like this tend to excel in isolating others into being isolated or part of an isolated group. If you look in from the outside you notice that while they might be supportive they are actually negative. They know how to say the right things.
From negging to gaslighting to other tricks of the trade. They often find things that you can identify with, interests, traits, rp things. To try to get a latch into your world.
A real mu* friend does not:
- Try to dictate or control who you do or dont rp with (They let you make your own decisions)
- Encourage bad behavior (I’ve been victim of this before, done dumb things looking back was like - why did I ever do that?)
- Try to get you to actively work against someone else not in the loop/not for an RP thing
- Invite you to a game where your presence will give them an ‘up’ in that game
- Go to discord to particularly shit-talk people. There’s warning people, like this person I’ve heard is troublesome. This might be DWOPP, etc. Then there’s shit-talking. This person likes TS, blah blah blah.
- This person is Cujo or Hadrix - they are not your friend.
- Make weird sex comments that are unprompted. No jokes, no unwarranted comments or touches. There is just no need for this behavior in this day and age. OOC communication is key with any kind of thing. Maybe someone isn’t interested in that kind of attention? - Easy fix, a quick page/PM before you make any comments or such goes a long way to not make the person feel weird.
What a good mu* friend WILL do:
- Help you with your char, get into rp, etc.
- Not put you or anyone else down
- Not be a whirlwind of toxic negativity all the time.
- Encourage positive ideas, creativity
- Work with you to create stories, ideas
- Works to bring people/rp groups together instead of creating tight cliques
- Encourages others to play with people they find good roleplayers and enjoy playing with.
Anyways, that’s my advice/rant. The manipulators are very good at their game usually, and make you feel bad. Try to make you not turn them in. Turning people in is never your fault. If you show a log, and people come to their own conclusions - it’s their behavior that they got in trouble for. Nothing on you. They have the mindset of - I wouldn’t have gotten in trouble if no one turned me in!

Seems like Cujo is just very much This is done, move on.
‘The lying, repeatedly-banned, horrible people talking about the repeated and rampant sexual harassment on this game are lying about everything you’ve personally witnessed or heard about concerning the repeated and rampant sexual harassment on this game. I’m not lying, promise!’
As said by… pretty much every crooked authority figure when word of their dealings got out. We’ll see who does their research and discovers Cujo is, in fact, lying.
@TooManyCharacter said in Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo:
Those that choose to play there without being part of the primary cliques may be able to continue to ignore the transgressions of the administration for some time. It’s hard to let go if you’ve been playing there for years. That said, with Cujo’s frequent attempts to quell the situation with on-grid announcements, it’s going to be very hard to keep turning a blind eye to the division.
A lot of non-Aryn-clique characters are used to avoiding staff and their troublemaking ways, so they might not know anything aside from some players being taken out of action. If they seriously look, though, they might realize that none of them was even close to the day count to be removed. It’s a subtle detail, though, especially if you weren’t playing with them.
Cujo does control the official narrative there, which is where a lot of people are getting their information if they’re not reading this thread. Right now he’s in full damage control mode. Don’t want people to leave the game and drop the WHO count without having the courtesy to get banned first, after all!
@SpilledBeanz said in Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo:
A pretty decent number of players seem to be in the process of leaving, just doing it on their own terms. Star Wars MUSH appears to be where they’re going, it’s had a huge spike in logins.
So some folks are looking into what happened, and voting with their feet. Good on them!
I don’t know if SW1 is an improvement, but it likely can’t be any worse than AoA, especially if there have been some staff overturns in the last decade or so.
-
@TooManyCharacter Ayup. Until there’s a better game to go to, that is fun and playable and GMed and all that jazz, people are going to keep playing.
Most players on any given MUSH are only marginally attached. It’s a casual thing. They like to log in and have fun. It’s not a lifestyle thing.
You’re not going to move those people off of a MUSH over “drama” unless you offer them something they can do to fill that gap.
-
@Anony-Mouse Kind of reminds me of:
NO! You can’t put in your 2 weeks notice, because YOUR FIRED!!!
-
@CuriousGamer These things remind me a great deal of a Rollins Band song I used to play on the campus radio station. Think it was just called ‘Liar’. This isn’t nearly the whole song, but these are the words I remember when I think of abusers like Cujo and Hadrix.
'I’ll hide behind a smile… and understanding eyes…
And I’ll tell you things you already know, just so you’ll say, ‘I really identify with you, so much!’
I’ll come to you like an affliction. I’ll leave you like an addiction.
You’ll never forget me! YOU WANNA KNOW WHY?!!‘CAUSE I’M A LIAR!!! YEAH! I AM A LIAR!!!’
‘I DON’T KNOW WHY I FEEL THE NEED TO… CAUSE YOU SO MUCH PAIN!
MAYBE IT’S SOMETHIN’ INSIDE, MAYBE IT’S SOMETHIN’ I CAN’T EXPLAIN…
‘CAUSE ALL I DO… IS MESS YOU UP AND LIE TO YOU!!!’‘I LIE! I LIE AND LIE AND LIE! OH, I LIE…
I’LL LIE AGAIN! AND AGAIN!
I’LL LIE AGAIN AND AGAIN AND I’LL KEEP LYIN’!
I promise… HAHAHAHAHAHAAH!’Groomers and cliquesters are a lot like this. Other players are just a disposable thrill to them, or a place to hide when the whistle is blown… or even the flying monkey squad that squashes all criticism of them, so they can continue to prey on vulnerable people.
In what little experience I have with this kind of abuse on games, ones in which staff have near-total control of the information flow, things tend to simmer just beneath the surface, invisible to most of the player body of the game, for a long, long time. Most players go out of their way to avoid the clique the problem player is part of, if there is any warning at all. It’s only when the incidents begin to pile up, and victimized players begin to talk to one another outside of the game and discover patterns in their own experiences, that things come out, and usually it’s in one big rush. The game may or may not die as a result of it.
On the game I was on when I first saw this (a Fallout game run by the infamous Kat), a large part of the playerbase disappeared over the course of a month, and most of the players found out through paging one another, or talking to fellow players outside the game via emails or places like Discord. The game slowly withered and died for six or so months afterward, and by the time Kat actually banned the predator in question, it was much, much too late to save the game or what little credibility she had as a staffer.
Given that Cujo refuses to even acknowledge that any abuse occurred, let alone ban the player/staffer responsible, I don’t know how long it will take AoA to wither away, if it ever does. Remember that SerenityMUSH stuck around for a long, long time in spite of having similar problems, and an equally toxic staff culture. The same may happen here.

Speaking of 15 years in appearance. Cujo is completely okay, on a sex pest and TS-ridden game such as AoA, with allowing underage Characters to exist.
I’ll let your imagination ruminate over that one.
Zephyr was the only one who within recent memory would not stand for such shinanigans and corrected past approved characters who were under the age of 18.I distinctly recall one player who played a former slave who was possibly a prostitute for some time before she escaped. While she was a teenager. Yes, this can happen IRL, but it’s really a bad thing to have on a game people mostly play to get away from RL for a while. I don’t know who reported her because she brought this up during RP, but she never was banned that I know of. She might’ve had to rewrite her backstory, which had previously been approved by staff (likely Cujo, as it predates Hadrix’s staffification).
And now Zephyr’s gone. The floodgates have truly been flung wide.
@Zephyr said in Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo:
As usual Cujo is making up reasons after the fact because he knows he did something he shouldn’t have and it looks bad.
As usual, indeed. Cujo is good at making bad decisions, and bad at lying about it after. Call it a hobby of his.
Here’s the latest bad decision, sent to me by a friend: A brand-new feat characters can take post-timejump. Typical Cujo spelling and grammar mistakes have been left in for your amusement.
After decades of research, and experiments, in the field of Human Replica Droids, the genetic industry of the Core Worlds is finally offering Human Replica Organs, or Human Replacement Organs, to those with the credits to afford such radical medical therapies.
With the intention of curing ailments, reducing the effects of aging, and promoting general Human longevity, HRO Treatments are an option for the wealthy to preserve vanity, if not prlong life itself.Treatments:
Every organ costs different amounts of credits, ranging from 500 thousand to 5 million, but the benefits are growing in believe to outweigh the costs.
These treatments are becoming more wide spread on worlds such as Coruscant, and Empress Teta, with the rich socialites spreading how wonderful they feel after receiving their first HRO session.
Though the replacement organs are marketed as being for Humans only, some Doctors are willing to create organs specific for other species who are willing to pay the lofty prices asked for.
From HRO hearts, to livers, to stomachs, to eyes, to the entire skin covering one’s body… this radical medical therapy is gaining traction in the Core Worlds.OOC:
HRO Treatment is for those who wish to maintain their characcter’s youthful beauty, health, and longevity, while having a feat to prove that they paid for it.If you are interested in buying HRO Treatments then send a +request to staff to buy this feat with credits to show that you have had the medical treatments done ICly, the price can be negotiated to achieve the goal desired with Staff in these +requests.
The point of this Feat is to help someone lower their character’s Apparent Age versus their character’s biological age.
The service is only available to Humans and Near-Human species.Yup, you read that right: If you’ve got the credits and the XP, and staff approves your +req, you can entirely avoid the effects of aging while still getting your 500 XP for aging!
I can guess which players this is aimed at, particularly since Hadrix is now on staff. Which is yet another Bad Cujo Decision.

Gotta be honest: so what?
Sure, it seems a little silly, but who is this hurting?
-
@hellfrog I’m very uneasy with a game of sexpests having rules that allow people to stay young and conventionally fuckable. Maybe I’m talking out of my ass on that one.

Anybody who lacks the XP to take the feat, or lacks the credits to get the treatments after, most of whom are likely not in staff’s circle of special people. It’s an example of Cujo’s decision-making process in action.
The biggest thing on-game lately has been the promised timejump of 15 years so the Sith can win the game, and presumably a resistance of some kind can batter themselves bloody trying to dethrone them. While you can somehow opt out of 5-15 years of the timejump if you don’t want your character to age (Star Wars has the technology for this, and coded aging and the side effects of it is a thing on AoA), you miss out on the XP you’d get for it. Now players can have their cake and eat it, too, if they can get staff to approve it.

You are not. The thought is disgusting enough by itself, but this reeks of being aimed at the Koras and all of Aryn’s other cliques. Including Hadrix and his alts, who likely aren’t opting out of the aging process.

It sounds like half the reason this place thrives is that it’s so miserable to grind towards something playable and enjoyable (in the face of the Favorites who have a much easier time of it and I’m sure rub it in people’s faces) and once you get a scrap of it, Sunk Cost Fallacy all the way.
I mean you almost have to be impressed.

Pretty much. Also, since good equipment and mods that aren’t junk are nearly impossible to find, there’s the thrill of getting that oh-so-rare bit of good gear and finally closing a little of the gap between Newb and Dinosaur and Favorite. If you really look at the game system, you realize it’s pointless even to try. The gap is just too big, and growing with every day and bad staff decision, but some people really get into the search.

+help Player Complaints Jan 19 2023 Maelstrom
==============================================================================
At the end of the day, MUSHing is a tabletop role playing game but in text form. This is a niche hobby that we all share in common. A place where we can find and make friends of similiar interests and tell some incredible stories with the power of our creative minds and a luck of the dice roll. And though the dice may occasionally be cruel to us, we needn’t be cruel to each other. That being said, our table sees a lot of different players and it stands to reason that those players will not always get along for any number of reasons.
In those situations, we would like to direct you towards ‘+help Player Complaints’. You will also find this in the +help listings under the Community tab. This protocol has always been in place and has been utilized in the past, but it was our failure to not have it enshrined for easy access. This has been rectified.
Please read it and know that you have options should you find yourself in a difficult situation. Staff is dedicated to mediating and helping seek resolutions.
ICly, the world is very dangerous but every player is entitled to feeling OOCly safe.
------------------------------< +bbread 7/144 >-------------------------------How funny, I don’t feel safe around Hadrix or Sumi, so I basically just couldn’t go to any events that would actually work with my character. For months.

Yeah this has probably happened more than a couple of times over the years but in one case I know that a female character’s “services” were sold for IC credits to others by her owner, and from what I heard (from the player herself) it was pretty hardcore slave fetish type stuff. There’s a very active xxx-mush component to aoa just under the surface. There are multiple players that keep harems and recruit noobs to join them, slave-prostitute rings, and worse. People do what they’ll do behind closed doors, and private (And consensual) TS is not wrong, but aoa’s sex pest culture is just the tip of this iceberg… There’s a lot more hidden beneath.

Yeah, my thought when I first learned. It’s not very visible, and from what I was told the usual suspects (and not talking Hadrix here because I never heard his name connected with this, but the known sex pests on the game) were the “clients”, but it was there. Also Nar Shaddaa is the drop-off point for almost all noobs, so the sex pests kind of congregate there to intercept new female characters and see if they can maneuver them towards their ships and eventual nakedness. It’s a Sex Panther thing for them, “60% of the time, it works every time!”
-
@BloodAngel The post is new, no idea if the file is.
-
@SolarFlare It’s likely at least part of the file is new, if not all of it. I’ve seen more than one abusive or complicit staffer roll out a completely new rule or policy and, if questions or complaints cropped up, post a message stating, ‘It’s ALWAYS been this way!’
