+help Player Complaints Jan 19 2023 Maelstrom
==============================================================================
At the end of the day, MUSHing is a tabletop role playing game but in text form. This is a niche hobby that we all share in common. A place where we can find and make friends of similiar interests and tell some incredible stories with the power of our creative minds and a luck of the dice roll. And though the dice may occasionally be cruel to us, we needn’t be cruel to each other. That being said, our table sees a lot of different players and it stands to reason that those players will not always get along for any number of reasons.
In those situations, we would like to direct you towards ‘+help Player Complaints’. You will also find this in the +help listings under the Community tab. This protocol has always been in place and has been utilized in the past, but it was our failure to not have it enshrined for easy access. This has been rectified.
Please read it and know that you have options should you find yourself in a difficult situation. Staff is dedicated to mediating and helping seek resolutions.
ICly, the world is very dangerous but every player is entitled to feeling OOCly safe.
------------------------------< +bbread 7/144 >-------------------------------How funny, I don’t feel safe around Hadrix or Sumi, so I basically just couldn’t go to any events that would actually work with my character. For months.

@SolarFlare is that new?

Speaking of 15 years in appearance. Cujo is completely okay, on a sex pest and TS-ridden game such as AoA, with allowing underage Characters to exist.
I’ll let your imagination ruminate over that one.
Zephyr was the only one who within recent memory would not stand for such shinanigans and corrected past approved characters who were under the age of 18.I distinctly recall one player who played a former slave who was possibly a prostitute for some time before she escaped. While she was a teenager. Yes, this can happen IRL, but it’s really a bad thing to have on a game people mostly play to get away from RL for a while. I don’t know who reported her because she brought this up during RP, but she never was banned that I know of. She might’ve had to rewrite her backstory, which had previously been approved by staff (likely Cujo, as it predates Hadrix’s staffification).
And now Zephyr’s gone. The floodgates have truly been flung wide.
Yeah this has probably happened more than a couple of times over the years but in one case I know that a female character’s “services” were sold for IC credits to others by her owner, and from what I heard (from the player herself) it was pretty hardcore slave fetish type stuff. There’s a very active xxx-mush component to aoa just under the surface. There are multiple players that keep harems and recruit noobs to join them, slave-prostitute rings, and worse. People do what they’ll do behind closed doors, and private (And consensual) TS is not wrong, but aoa’s sex pest culture is just the tip of this iceberg… There’s a lot more hidden beneath.

Yeah, my thought when I first learned. It’s not very visible, and from what I was told the usual suspects (and not talking Hadrix here because I never heard his name connected with this, but the known sex pests on the game) were the “clients”, but it was there. Also Nar Shaddaa is the drop-off point for almost all noobs, so the sex pests kind of congregate there to intercept new female characters and see if they can maneuver them towards their ships and eventual nakedness. It’s a Sex Panther thing for them, “60% of the time, it works every time!”

@BloodAngel The post is new, no idea if the file is.
-
@SolarFlare It’s likely at least part of the file is new, if not all of it. I’ve seen more than one abusive or complicit staffer roll out a completely new rule or policy and, if questions or complaints cropped up, post a message stating, ‘It’s ALWAYS been this way!’

what the fuck
and i’m reminded of an earlier post in this thread about underage characters existing, and i’m even more like
what in the absolute fuck

I was looking for an appropriately humorous meme image to post here–maybe the one about “what the Kentucky Fried fuck”–but honestly, humor isn’t appropriate. This is gross and fuck those guys for introducing sex crimes to Star Wars. I used to watch these movies with my mom, you know? We’d bond over renting a VCR and a copy of Star Wars, and these human-shaped piles of crusty socks have to go and be creeps about it.

What the fuck? This is exactly like the MUD i used to play, i thought mushing was better than this.

In general mushing sex pests tend to be more oblique or private about it. Still not good, obviously, but far easier to miss.

Info.
Maelstrom has a character in Clan Kora with Hadrix. They also have alts that are married to each other.
Keep this in mind when contemplating the truthfulness/effectiveness of any of her announcements.
-
@Das-Auto Huh. Wonder if Maelstrom is Sumi.

I think it is, just not there. What we’re seeing is the hobby’s low. I can kind of half respect the XXX mushes out there, at least they advertise what they’re all about. This is more like the lair of a trapdoor spider.
-
I mean, not to be that weirdo, but as long as everyone involved consented to the situation, meh?
Obviously yeet the jerks if there was OOC pressure involved, but aside from that…

I’m not trying to be a downer but these guys aren’t the ones who introduced sex crimes to Star Wars.
You know how in the third movie there was a Twi’lek girl dancing and when she tried not to get manhandled by Jabba, he murdered her? And how Leia was in a metal bikini and strangled Jabba with his own chain?
Sex crimes have always been an unfortunate part of Star Wars, and especially in the expanded universe. Twi’lek society is literally based around slavery, especially selling Twi’lek girls to men, because human men find them exotic.
So absolutely blame these jackasses for glorifying it, but George Lucas introduced sex crimes to Star Wars a loooong time ago… which is why it attracts so many creepers.

She is not. Sumi does not have a staff alt.
Update. I now have receipts of Maelstrom contradicting her own post. DM if you want them.

@Adora look its actually very rude of you to remind me of scenes id forgotten, in future please just agree with me even when im wrong

Dramatically speaking, Oola was there to show the danger of denying Jabba anything, and highlight the danger Leia was later in. None of the above was a good thing, but it made sense in the context of a high octane adventure story, and accentuated Jabba’s foulness.
On AoA, it’s more like Mandalorians (and Mandalorian imitators, depending on who you talk to) waiting to club unsuspecting female PCs and drag them into their starships.
