@shit-piss-love In my day we had character, which meant you were traumatized but always had a snappy remark on-hand just in case.
ChatGPT? No. Ask Jenn. I’m just holding conference calls, so you’re getting my split attention.
Edited to add, I was going to reference Anita Loos but what a wasted reference.

I was go start suggesting VK, but I think that would be giving her far too much credit.
I’ve never witnessed VK trying to intentionally troll in this sort of way. It’s not at all her style.
Honestly – and this is intended generally to the thread, not specifically to you – not everyone who rolls in and acts weird is the same as someone else. There are endless weirdos.
-
To clarify, I’m not asking you to make excuses, or rein them in - they’re allowed to do whatever the hell they like (even if i find it entirely baffling), and youre not responsible for them. They’ve just referenced you enough that it seemed plausible that they had some line to you, or visa versa. It’s just that whatever they’re doing here in your supposed defense is… not helpful, really. We can tell that wizard was up to something without the overwrought comparisons to professional blackmail.
-
@Snackness Are Pogs still a thing wherever you are?

I think most are aware of that. It’s also more easy to say that narrative is far more entertaining.
Unless of course, we’re not wrong.

@Jenn Yeah, I stand by the assessment from weeks ago. At best, this person is incredibly disingenuous. Whatever dark land-of-the-lost ass corner of the mu*ing world ya’ll escaped from… to quote a scholar:
Sounds fun.
-
@helvetica but fiten tiemz does sound fun
i like to fiten in my spare tiemz when i’m not holding conference calls for my very important job -
@hellfrog lucky for us both my job ain’t that important
-
@spiriferida Professional blackmail?
Just out of curiosity, do you think federal criminal law has a white-collar dip test for financial fraud?

is it??? i don’t find the randomness entertaining, really, just distracting

I don’t think its any of the named people at all. But I have encountered two people recently in the wild that are this flavor of weird.
I would still love to have 300 gallons of this type of weird than the named folks though.

I met them on Neitherlands, did not know that they were who they were prior. After bans came down, I got a message about who they had been ElseMU. They were friends with me on Discord, and had talked about a few other games, but last I am aware, we don’t have any gaming over-lap at this point.
All I really can say is that this person is not Inuki. As far as I’m aware, they can’t stand Inuki and had more than ample complaints of their own. I feel like what has brought them to this thread with this timing was the last straw of him being the ones to see Sophia was posting logs but not me at the keys. I can’t prove that, but it’s my suspicion.
I have no idea who Ghost or Chet or any of the other speculated links are or aren’t. I have no clarity to offer there. I know that the first time I /really/ talked to Serafine about how miserable I was at Neitherlands was after he’d paged me a log of Austin and Inuki paging his character ‘jokes’ about how great it would be if he shoved Sophia into a bonfire to ‘end her problem’ of existing. Prior to that, we’d only known each other on surface levels and IC ways. After that… Well. After that I caught my ban, after not getting shoved into a fire.
Honestly, I’m kind of less concerned about who anyone else is, or what anyone else is saying than I am about actual things that have been proven to happen.
The fact that Inuki is trying to gaslight me about what Soph’s curse was or wasn’t. The fact that even if it was tamer in actuality than I’d assumed on first reading and yet is still clearly there that I really AM being accused of requiring hospitalization because I guess it just really IS that hard to cope with me. The fact that Inuki has logged into my private character and read through some of my private things, then posted them to public record. The fact that it’s clearly obvious that the only reason to do so was so they can hover the ‘power’ over anyone else’s heads now about what else is out there potentially shareable…
This is massive levels of just above the top, ugly for zero good reasons, violating things I’ve ever experienced via the interwebs. It’s bad enough that I’m honestly considering changing hobbies entirely. But I also realize that I’m medicated this week to unusual levels, and making long-term choices while not entirely sober is a bad plan. But like. I am at this point enough concerned about the lines they’ve crossed already to not believe they’ll continue crossing as many further lines as they can find.

You’re not doing anything to divest yourself of the “overwrought” descriptor here, you know
-
@spiriferida If I stop now, I’m going to look really stupid with all these chandeliers, chaises, and Big-Chill style dramatic curtains that blow dramatically.
Sometimes you just have to own your terrible interior design choices.
-
@Roz Considering I was the one that first stipulated the potential use of a sockpuppet, it was mostly said in humor. Granted, I’m still not entirely sure. Just as equally possible it’s some rando weird troll.
An sure, I personally find it entertaining, though that doesn’t mean that everyone else does. I think this is just what I generally expect on these kind of threads for it to completely go off rails.

ok I thought this person was fun, but actually this person is an asshole.
@Serafine you are an asshole. Do not do this to people, wtf.
-
Can you at least dramatically monologue about why you like to make dramatic statements with no backup and then wander off to a different thread when people ask you to explain?
ETA: no I’m sorry, no backup may be a bit harsh. Dramatic reenactments of the truth might capture the vibe better

Then why are they still on the game.
ETA: That was rhetorical. For clarity, I think they’re bullshit.

Serafine, what is your goal, exactly? You don’t seem interested in changing anyone’s mind; you seem outright contemptuous of the audience, which in turn seems patronizingly amused by you. Not the most efficacious way to defend your friend, since–to use your tactic of metaphor rather than just saying what I mean–it makes everyone think you’re an A-hole and anyone who’d be friends with you would probably stink of your dirty farts. I’m hard pressed to disagree with anyone who declares this all to be pointless trolling.

I fed their posts into ChatGPT and the profile it spit out is probably exactly who this person thinks they are.
