Then how are we even friends? I’m the most anal person I know.

Juerg. That name sounds familiar. Was that the cheese log guy?
-
-
Not sure about that, but want to say he was jaguar semen shot guy, wasn’t he?
-
@ratatat Horse semen.
I think cheese log was someone else. Uh, Artifex on Shang? I can’t remember for sure…

But you said you’re not into ins… you know what, I’m gonna drop it before I’m too much more of a pain in the ass.

Don’t ruin cheese logs for me again. Next thing you know I won’t be interested in seeing any aspics either.

Decius (or something like that) on Metro, too. I believe the cheese log had an actual on-grid appearance there, but I wouldn’t confidently say it was the origin or only such instance.
That was only (looks at the date on a couple of these log files)… holy fuck 20 years ago ok I’m gonna collapse into a pile of dust, now.
-
what the fuck

While the speculation and hypothesising is fun, should probably make clear that I don’t think there’s any evidence that the banned person is any of these historical figures.
-
It seems like a number of game runners are taking a harder stance about players like this. It feels like it used to be “Well, they haven’t broken the rules HERE…” and I’m seeing more and more admin instead saying “No, they aren’t welcome here to start with.” Or in this case, where maybe a rule wasn’t specifically broken but someone brought the wrong vibes and got the boot. I think it helps make games safer spaces and love to see it.
Which is also to say: I don’t know this guy, but good on the CoD staff for booting him early.
-
@Nilli I’ve been so, so happy about CoG staff protecting game environment by removing bad fits early rather than following ye Olde gaming philosophy of giving people yards and yards of rope with which to hang themselves.

The cheeselog guy was known as Decius on old school Metro back in the day. Why do I remember this?
Why?
-
bracing as I ask this, but why was someone called the cheese log guy?

Welp.
So there was a guy back in the day who had this “serial daddy dom” persona who he played across several games which I could not recall a list of. I encountered him as Decius on Metro back in, say, 1998 or so when I was young and fresh-faced.
I recall this particular character was a Technocracy Void Engineer who had a habit of arranging sexual relationships on the game, often across opposing PVP faction lines (which he’d also leverage IC’ly to “win” in conflict scenarios –
The worst part to all this was he did successfully gain IC intelligence on a bunch of different people in the grid that he did exploit). Anyway I won’t go into the dirty details beyond the fact that supposedly in at least one scenario, a cheese log was used as an adult toy in a scene. This had no effect on Hickory Farms’ stock value.

@SpaceKhomeini At least it wasn’t publicly posted to a wiki like the *** scene or the wine bottle fucking scene (both from HM).
Spoiler tag doesn’t seem to be working…. Um. A graphic SA scene involving a force multiplier.

Hey it was 1998, those posted logs would have looked like ass on somebody’s Geocities page.
