So really, the takeaway from this is that the two headwizzes are Chaucer and a Chaucer apologist. This is going to go exactly the same as L&L.

@Colette How about “actively promotes cliquish and exclusionary behavior, like focusing on his one preferred group of players, who get RP while everyone else gets ignored.”

    • RE: Newbie friendly games for someone who's never played MUs?

@L-B-Heuschkel I sent a friend your way a couple months back who was new to Mushing, but their concern was that they couldn’t figure out how to engage. No one talked to them, and as a newbie, they couldn’t figure how to get involved with the story. This is probably on them as much or more than anything, but I know it specifically related to Keys and someone being new to the hobby.

(To clarify, this is not me trying to slam Keys or LB, both of whom/which I think are awesome. Just thought it might be relevant. I think a lot of us forget what it’s like to be that true newb and flailing around trying to figure out how to mine for fish.)

    • Casual-Friendly

Looking to see if there’s a mush out there that is “casual-friendly”. As in: does not have activity requirements. Does not have the vast majority of its RP happening in pre-scheduled scenes you have to sign up for.

Basically, something where a grownup who has RL job and RL commitment can log in a few hours a week if they have time, and engage, and have fun, without being obligated to jump through 99 hoops and make it a second job just to get involved.

      Anyone?

@Roadspike Everything I’ve ever heard about the Network has made it sound the opposite. Things are big scheduled scenes, limited-time plots, etc.

@Cobalt I would love one if you still have it to get out of the hell that is Twitter.

@Coin Yeah, the scheduled scenes are what killed the last game I was on for me. 90% of the RP there was these scheduled scenes; no one seemed to understand the concept of just “go RP”.

With my schedule, I usually don’t know till a couple days before I have time, THAT I will have time. At best. There’s no way I can do these “Oh, in 10 days on Sunday at 5 PM, 10 people will log in and do a thing for 6 hours.”

@Prototart said in Comic Games Are Fun!:
Oh, and Jubilation Lee from Shang, one of their most infamous sexpests, is protected by staff despite having - shock! - harassed multiple people.

      For sanity and safety, who?
