RE: General Video Game Thread
Realised haven’t done a round-up for a while.
Manor Lords - I’ll keep mentioning this game, 15 days away from Early Access being released. It’ll be the perfect medieval-themed city builder.
Norland - Kind of medieval-themed Rimworld, saw the trailer for this game yesterday. Looks fun, looks like a good colony-builder game.
Song of Silence - So the graphics are a bit mobile-game, but it had an interesting mesh of genres. I’d put it closer to old Might and Magic style games than anything else. The voice acting though was pretty poor.
Rimworld Anomaly DLC - Releases later today. It is Rimworld the daddy of colony games.
Supermarket Simulator - Sounds stupid but running a supermarket is really chill. I can tell customers that giving $100 for a bottle of water is awful.

ngl, I am finding the Game Ads tone that some of this convo has taken to be a little off-putting.
Glad it’s not just me.

So now the Pantheon wholly embraces fucking around in the pursuit of finding out.
More like how we should be thoughtful and wise about our choices before making them, which is LAME. Sorry, Vellichor.
Agreed. Smash rocks. Free 1/13th of Diamond.
You are obviously getting swiftly assassinated.

That mirrorborn was actually 1/13 of Diamond. Each ring represented a facet (haha) of Diamond, so this one was Diamond’s Callous Indifference To All Other Life. Sorry Templars.
Yeah he was a sweetie that mirrorborn. Was very fortunate that pLianne did a RP session as them and Tino meeting, one of my favourite scenes ever.
Could have had like Diamond’s intolerance to dairy but noooo. Got indifference to all forms of life.
@dvoraen - If I remember right as well, there was a clue where it was discussed what to do with him. There was a side in the clue about not wanting to send him to the Wheel since he could be reborn, and then having to track him down again. At least split into 13 parts, it is a little easier to stop him coming back.

@Duke-Whisky Did Martino mention researching/interest in Fable and working with others on it to Gianna once?
Very likely, there was the group that met in one of the bars to discuss plans about Fable.
@Quibbler said in The Arx Secrets Thread:
I remember thinking, oh, Oswyn would be better for that, I wonder why Martino hasn’t mentioned it to him. And then I thought on it some, like why someone might not want to contact Captain Good Boy Book Nerd about it. And then I was not wholly surprised when the thing with the Mirrorborn and the Archives happened.
Asking the good guy for the books about demons and the abyss is a sure fire way to get an eyebrow or two raised.
“Yeah these are for ‘research’ purposes so I stay reaaaaally safe.”

RE: The Arx Secrets Thread
Martino’s initial secret was that he served Malvici, directly Calypso and Eirene, as the House Spymaster. Did a few actions around building up a base of this, and mostly drawing in more-and-more clues. This worked great for allowing some good RP with others about clues, information and trading that sort of thing - but always skirting around the edges of the metaplot. Was one of those secrets where you are fiercely loyal to people, but we went through a little revolving door of Calypso.
Was later when he was sent a black diamond ring that previously belonged to someone that he became more hooked in with the metaplot. Wearing it and carrying the curse of inflicting acts of cruelty upon people. Wore it every day since November 2nd 2021 and had 3 people OOCly chat about it after seeing it. Only 1 ICly. Would emote about rings tapping glasses, wearing gloves indoors and removing them to reveal a set of rings.
Eventually after performing one cruel act after another, started poking it somewhat more and freed his mirrorborn who killed some Archivists. Damn staff. Never giving him the journals and clues he was looking for. Met said mirrorborn again later and came to an agreement that in offer for the mirrorborn’s magic, his direct descendants would work to free Diamond.
Sorry kids. Dad wanted power at any cost.

@Pavel - Can you write my end year review? That’s the kinda waffle that’ll do me well when it comes to pay negotiations.

RE: Planners
Previously been a devout bullet journal user, then wanted something digital so I could take it with me and used Notion.
More recently been entirely focused on simply getting to-dos done so went for Todoist as it has both an app, web and desktop version.
Has been a lot more helpful since it’s just a simple to do list, without having to spend a good hour+ sighing at my meager art skills to make pretty layouts.

RE: Baldur's Gate 3
@SpaceKhomeini - While the list is quite large for updates and tweaks, it still being v4.1.1 means the changes are relatively minor under the hood for modded games. Like the photo mode one I adore was updated in about 10 mins and mostly bug fixes that the person was working on between versions anyway.

Couple more from last night and this morning…
Shadowheart’s view from the tower
Quick Hans’ time in the Shadow-Cursed Lands
Karlach bloodied after battle

Had the Galeplosion ending. Honestly it’s pretty dark and I loved it.

Does anyone else have party changing anxiety, lol?
Less anxiety and more I end up not really needing them either as I’m not smart enough to manage their resources (Gale) or they fit a purpose I need (Halsin/Wyll).
Or I just end up perma-killing them. That also helps to limit my options.

Perma-killed two party members. Would do again.
Unless your name is Shadowheart, you’re not safe.

RE: Concordia Thread
For me, I honestly thought I had the skillset and resilience to run a game. That disciplinary issues would be simple to handle, that people would read content and guiding story would be the vast majority of the work. Personally I think some people also approached it expecting like peak Arx, which the game never was going to be.
Unfortunately though, I was quite wrong in both my assessment of that and just how creepy, sexual or downright rude to each other people could be. In an incredibly short space of time we had:
Someone who was sliding into the DMs for every male presenting character wanting to hook up.
Someone who was encouraging them to trade the logs.
Yossarian.
Dealing with that on a daily basis was just exhausting for me, taking away from the fun that I have around roleplaying and world building. There’s also systems and processes that I do wish I got in at the start, positions and structures from the very beginning.
If I ever was to restart, I think there are elements I’d bring across but certainly some things I would do to improve. But ain’t anybody’s first attempt at something like this incredibly successful.
You live, learn and improve.

RE: Baldur's Gate 3
I found out after a long rest, if you do nothing. You lose a party member. 🥲
So turns out Shadowheart is pretty viscous but, damn, she looks so good in Lae’zel’s armour.
