@Juniper they don’t have to answer to me. I didn’t press the question either. I just removed them from my life. I’m in the ‘if I don’t like what you’re doing I just won’t associate with you’ era of my life. Good vibes only, please.

RE: MU Peeves Thread
My peeve today is leaving a game I invested in because a person I was friends with was uncomfortable with the direction it was going. Our characters had stories together that were tightly intertwined. Then find out two years later, after you trash talk the admins and the game (deservedly), that they go back on that same character, erase you from their character history and don’t even talk to you about it. Like they just don’t care. Like you never mattered.
Internet friends are fake. Don’t ever trust them. (A lesson I keep having to learn.)

RE: Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo
@Hobbie it’s the same story as serenitymush. There will be deaths and rebirths until it just ends up dead on someones VM server forgotten in time.

RE: Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo
@Zephyr yeah this kind of got old and from someone who had taken a joke too far and got told about it… I stopped. But this just kept going on. It was nearly constant… Despite how good her other characters were. She had a lot of hate for the admin and game systems even when I first started as Devii.
You mentioned the day to day rp a while back. I remember when I made Sajin and Oriana had left, that period where the game died the first time for a bit… That was the only thing that kept it alive was the bar rp. That’s where I got my writing chops, describing messily eating food and so on and so forth. Mopping the hanger floor. Arguing with my droid. I remember that more fondly than any of the other grandiose crap. Or the switch to Liz and his ridiculous excentricities.
I considered myself pretty introverted and ‘hateful’ of people but from an admin perspective I can’t see how that’s why they did what they did… Because I don’t like people and yet I wouldn’t do that to them in a playtime environment.
I would only ever return to AoA to troll. Please @Jax stop giving me ideas.

=========================<* 8: Game Updates - 221 *>=========================
Message: 8/221 Posted Author
Rise of the New Rebellion Aug 11 2024 CujoGreetings, all.
I’m tossing out a bbpost update on the state of the galaxy, as far as the Sith and the Rebellion elements go. The intention, following our previous time jump, was for the game to get a span of time where the clear presence of Sith Empire dominance was displayed. It had been 17 years since the fall of the New Republic, and we wanted to give a sense of hoplessness to the galaxy, that they were under that iron grip, and that the Sith Lords of this new era had refined the ideals that Palpatine and Tarkin had envisioned. We wanted to make it feel like this iteration of the Sith Empire was really pulling it off, with efficiency and intelligence. There are a lot of arguments that can be made that the Galactic Empire really screwed up in a lot of major ways, which lead to its relatively short downfall, and the desire here was to paint a more powerful edge to this Sith Empire, and give it a bit of that regal classic KOTOR-era Sith style too.
So again, the past year and a half of the game was meant to let the game coast on Sith Imperial rule. I’d hope it would yield some good fun for people, to RP staying hidden, staying in the shadows, being the ones on the run, if you are the ones pushing for the freedom of the galaxy from overlords and despots.
But, this is Star Wars, and we can’t stay in a position of total control for too long.
Because of this, if the past 18 years of the IC grid would be labeled something akin to the Reign of the Sith Empire, then my hope for the future going forward would be the era of the Rise of the New Rebellion.
The Rebellion has been building up its mobile shipyard fleet, a massive Mon Calamari shipyard on engines, dubbed the Organa’s Hope. This massive fleet factory is the focus of the future for the game’s story. Being that it is fully operational now, after nearly two decades of planning, and building, it should be considered fully in-play now. With its goal being to discover safe star systems, relatively speaking, that it can hyperspace in to, release its ships out… to go grab all the resources possible, bring them in and churn out a new attack force that can then head out to engage Sith Empire forces. Being that this mobile star base is the future of the New Rebellion, and that it is fully functional at this stage of the game’s story, then those players who wish to create stories around this are encouraged to do just so. We can tell you where the Organa’s Hope is located, and what its current goals are. It will be ICly producing fleets to attack Sith Empire forces, which will give the Sith Empire players something to react to as well, as they desperately defend their regions, while also trying to find the source of this growing New Rebellion. It is meant to be a high stakes game of cat and mouse, across the galaxy.
Additionally, at this stage, the New Rebellion is meant to formally request Jedi inclusion in their endeavors again. Not to be generals in a war, but to ensure as much of the galaxy affected by this war, are as safe as possible. The New Rebellion wants the Jedi to be there to help keep civilians, and innocents, safe from the Sith, but also from the splash back of war itself.
So in summary, the New Rebellion IS in full operation now. The wars across the galaxy are meant to be amping up, with word of mouth spreading rapidly that the reign of the Sith Empire is now facing its biggest challenge yet. It is the light, pushing back against twenty years of darkness.
I hope this helps, and if you have questions, or want to create stories based on this, just reach out to Staff and we can help you do that. We are here for you to do that. If you want to decide how to shape the galaxy, this is the vessel through which you do that. We want it to be fun, and we want you all to have great stories told here.
Reach out, and we will help.
------------------------------< +bbread 8/221 >-------------------------------I predicted long ago that the Sith Empire will rule the galaxy until the game closes, so this post came as something of a surprise to me. Maybe the influx of new players was and is a lot lower than Cujo and his pets wanted. Maybe they’re wishing for more people to show off for, and/or they’re getting sick of each other’s company.
I don’t expect things to actually CHANGE there, since the Sith Empire is the favored faction, and the most active as well (not that this means much of anything, since activity outside of scheduled events is largely dead, and there aren’t more than a half-dozen scheduled events per month, at most); over half of all scheduled events these last six months have been ‘Sith Empire and allies’ events. With ‘allies’ meaning Sith subfactions, and mercs and similar independent characters loyal to them.
But this will make it SOUND like something fun and Rebellious just might be happening. Nobody joins a Star Wars game to play a tiny, powerless Rebellion.
Something I’m sure AoA staff and favorites are counting on.
Edit: For what it may also be worth, the post doesn’t actually change anything meaningful, no matter how excitingly and enticingly it may be worded. The supposedly now-fully-operational mobile shipyard was advertised during the timejump as being on the move and largely doing the same things it will be doing now, and the Jedi have been some degree of involved in the New Rebellion/Resistance for most of the time beyond the jump. I’m sure there’s more, but this tells most of the tale. As does the near-total lack of activity from the Resistance/New Rebellion these last few months. The faction is likely losing players and on the verge of dying. Can’t have that; the Sith players need to feel like they’re beating SOMEONE, after all, not a bunch of coded NPC stand-ups.
If you know a little of the game’s history and read between the lines, this post promises only more of the same of what is already happening. Nothing has changed.
(edited because I thought of something else and didn’t want to reply to myself…)

Wait what was even the fucking point of the sith take over then? (We know the reason) Why not just have a drawn out war between equal powers?
Sound like some old school back tracking.

@Warlander Well, I was wrong. I suspected Darth Omen was Banshee’s alt, since a surviving Mace Windu turned to the Sith sounded like Banshee’s wet dream.
But Banshee doesn’t play Darth Omen; Cujo does. I don’t remember this information coming up before now, but it may have; my memory could be a lot better. Just in case it hasn’t, I’ll re-broach the subject now.
Cujo is easy to pick out with his 3 sentence poses and bad spelling… Because he just doesn’t give a fuck.
@Jax said in Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo:
@Warlander Cujo going to Cujo. Banshee got to Banshee. Hadrix is sexual harassing a couch. Aryn got to be the prettiest and most special. Everyone else are just NPCs.
Gawd @ashkuri and @Hobbie could build and run a better sw game if they it built out of the old Elendor database. Then for theme only read an issue of a Star Wars comic, saw half of Acolyte, and @Zephyr explain the Ewok movies to them with sock puppets.
"Note* Nothing wrong with Elendor, It’s just was Lord of the Rings.
God damn Jax, this would be awesome. Honestly , I’d put time and money into this to make it real. Because it’s so god damn true.

I miss the simple days.

@Jumpscare but of course they’re so worried about properly balancing the econ system for ordinary players. /S

RE: Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo
@Popes well…
I have the entier sereitei put together. Working still on the human world and then need to put together hueco mundo. Just finding time to sit and do descs is the problem. I got dss to work only to see if I can make it function the way I want. More as a reference for rolls and abilities than a true skill system. Only reason it was broken from my source was because dahan misspelled something… Which isn’t uncommon for him. And cg is in place but needs to be set up. Using a lot of faraday stuff.
But yeah fuck AoA. Just a bad vibe man.

RE: Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo
@Das-Auto you know. Its been over a year for this post. Over a year since I’ve left. I went off and bettered my life and now I’m in a great place I never thought I’d be. I got my Bleach game running locally on my home lab just a few steps away from opening.
Out of curiosity I logged in on guest tonight to take a look at the who. Only hadrix, his staff alt, and his jedi alt have scheduled events. The who is mostly made of idle people like Navi or the dinos who didn’t jump ship or their alts. Game is dead and gone. Maybe they’re hoping a reboot of the franchise will push them off again like was suggested. Either way I don’t care.
Seeing how easy it was to set up a game similar to how AoA was back in the hay day made me realize banshee isn’t that brilliant, Cujo is a manipulative self aggrandizing hack, and anyone can copy and paste or troubleshoot errors in code with the right know how.
Anyways folks, stay classy and remember…
Han fucking shot first.

RE: Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo
Well I logged in as a guest just a bit ago. I don’t really care if that outs me with ip tracking in their monitor channel. Cujo can get fucked hard for all I care.
They nuked all my bits except my jedi. Why the hell they keep him around is beyond me. To be treated as some sort of ken doll for Cujo or Banshee’s odd fantasy? No idea. They didn’t do that for my last jedi who seemed so integral to the game they made an entire plot around him for the jedi without my knowledge which I had to step in and finish because aryn and staff were having disagreements. Perhaps I’ll never understand the basement dwelling dipshit enough to comprehend his expert level of story telling. (Sarcasm)
Im still working on my own game. More free form and Bleach themed. I have caught up in the Mandalorian and am watching Ahsoka which has inspired me to perhaps do the same with a star wars theme. All we ever needed was imagination, a place to write notes, and an optional pair of dice to tell a good story IMO.

@SqeakyClean Yup. I left since I got like, 2 people to a plot, and eventually just competed with Had in the end. And then, when the Time Jump was announced, I lost all will to run. I am just there to watch the fire, though I suppose I’ll leave. Was a fun five years.
I had a bunch of stuff I wanted to do. Then the time jump was announced and some other things happened. So I was just like; nah screw this, and just stopped running stuff or having any will to. I was always running up against Hads stuff anyways like you were (which were org specific mind you… except for those select few people they decided to let come on the down-low). It felt like I was putting in the time and not getting anything out of it and that there was just one faction certain people really only cared about.

Exhibit A, way too late. First time in 5 years they offer anything for running. Flashpoint? Ooops? Two events? Whoever runs first gets the money.
Anything else? Fuck you, pay out of your own pocket. They are desperate
Pulling out all the stops to retain/bring in new players. Even though all these types of rewards were suggested a million times by people such as myself and others. Only to be ignored, brushed aside, or hee-hawed at.
Desperate is an appropriate term.
@CuriousGamer said in Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo:
Also looks like people are choosing to head out rather than deal with the drama/new theme.
I hadn’t logged in since I left and didn’t know these two had stood up. Good on Jax and Ax and I hope they stay far away from this sesspool and get to have fun without the anxiety AoA causes. I knew about Vega, we are friends, and had been discussing all the issues with the time skip for months before this thread hit. I suppose we kind of left together because she made her final choice when I hit my tipping point and told her I was done with Age of Kora.
Now Sumi, Hadrix, and Maelstrom are the only people who host events on the grid. Jax and to some degree myself were driving forces in the Jedi Order, especially Jax who ran plots for the group and its offshoot.
I’m sure Discordia will continue to have an alt in every sphere so she can pad her stats nom farming, having all the feats ever in existence, but never actually doing any story work herself.
Anyways, just wanted to say good on them.

@SqeakyClean I didn’t realize that Sumi played Poe. How long has this been? I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.
Over four-six years ago give or take. There was a Poe before her, not sure who. It was shortly after she joined the game. But she has been Poe for a very, very long time now.

The staff just imperiously announced ‘We’re skipping ahead fifteen years so that Rey and Ben Solo can have lots of babies! If you don’t like it, leave!’
Actually, it’s Rey and Poe’s babies on Age of Kora. Poe, played by Sumi’s player.

@Das-Auto Huh. Wonder if Maelstrom is Sumi.
She is not. Sumi does not have a staff alt.
Update. I now have receipts of Maelstrom contradicting her own post. DM if you want them.
Yet… LOL
I believe Maelstrom is Valeska/Ulani/Xavier. I would host events sometimes, but she’d rarely show up. Conversely, she would seemingly always show up to Aryn and Bors’ (or their Alts stuff) like clockwork. She was always on Velsaka and doing Kora things. I don’t think she missed a single Kora event.
This tracks for her as a person. Often described as flakey. She showed up in the middle of an event and got upset she couldn’t jump in (Mind you, I didn’t say she couldn’t she just had trouble with the continuity of it all.) Kind of had a mental breakdown (I don’t know if she was trying to emotionally manipulate me or not into feeling bad that there was a miscommunication on the time the event started or not.) And left, then came back, then left again. Clearly flustered over the whole thing. Though, she ended up apologizing afterward. We all have bad days.
She pretty much kept the Sith going with events, though few and far between. Probably the least crappy out of the new hires… still not great though. Clearly.

RE: Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo
Speaking of 15 years in appearance. Cujo is completely okay, on a sex pest and TS-ridden game such as AoA, with allowing underage Characters to exist.
I’ll let your imagination ruminate over that one.
Zephyr was the only one who within recent memory would not stand for such shinanigans and corrected past approved characters who were under the age of 18.
