@numenorean1 She told me to have no OOC role with the game anymore. I honored that demand. It’s her game.
It would have been inappropriate for me to ignore her reasonable request that I leave her game.
-
Nice. A VASpider reference in 2023. My bingo card is getting full.
(Note: I have nothing topical to contribute to any of this)
-
What about her request to:
“But I also need you to help me transition servers in a way that doesn’t negatively affect the others. I’m asking you to do that for me as a favor for old time’s sake. You know I’ve stood up for you in the past. It’s okay to be angry at me now. But let’s not hurt the others here.”
Which you seem to have entirely ignored?
-
@Polk “unwind involvement” != yell and flip over game board
-
@Polk You are literally the reason when they fire or lay people off at some jobs they immediately lock your access and escort you to your desk to pick stuff up. And hey, if you are that guy, then you are that guy. I guess respect for owning it?
-
@Pacha I did help her transition servers all along. Ambrosia has the db. Phan has the domain. She has the website.

-
@Muscle-Car Funny your signature seems to describe Sundance’s situation perfectly, right now.

Hello folks.
I’m Siren, over at Liberation MUSH. We’re all doing our best to get the game back up and running. I don’t have a timeline for when it will be back up and running, but it’s a top priority for us.
I will try to update here as best I can, so folks are in the know. I’m sorry for folks who have lost touch with friends, and I mean it when I say we’re working very hard to get us back online.
Thank you @Noraaa! And hi to anyone from Vampire who might be reading this.
-
@Polk I hope this carries through to make you a pariah in the hobby.
-
I’m pretty confused because your responses seem to swing between suggesting that the Liberation staff have all they need to run the game without you and they merely need to boot it back up to suggesting that they have indeed ‘lost’ the game and that you have scored your point.
-
@Pacha She didn’t lose the game. She lost my rock steady hosting of the game. BECAUSE SHE TOLD ME TO STOP DOING SO.
Read the log. All she had to do was give the word and the game would not have gone down. But she doubled down on her pages to me to get out.
-
@Polk You’re fired.
But can you cover one more shift for me?
-
remember that time someone shared this 2018 discord log on MSB two years ago where polk freaked out about someone taking issue with a transphobic joke? i do. it was one of the many highlights of the liberation thread over there wherein many people warned sundance about working with polk. (i have also remembered it when polk has posted here about being a real ally who can definitely spot dog whistles and knows how to deal with bigoted players.)

I’m actually sorta glad the guy who has been banned from juuust about every single mush hes ever logged onto has shown his colors here as well.
If we can just get him removed from moderator of the MUSH discord the hobby might finally be free of one more absolute prick who should never have any power over anything.
Not glad this happened, it’s obviously a little hissy fit, and it’s going to negatively impact a bunch of people. But glad it’s at least most likely over now.

I used to work with this guy I shared an office with who got shitcanned one afternoon. Turns out I forgot to lock my computer around that time and went to go talk to my boss about something.
The next morning, boss is blowing up my phone, apparently this guy emailed Steve Ballmer (this should tell you what company it was) from my mailbox on his way out with a bunch of fuck yous and other insults that were definitely fourth-tier.
My boss is laughing as he knows where I was at that exact time, and he was like – “Come on, if you were going to do that to Ballmer, I’d expect more creativity.” Long story short I just reply-alled Sweaty Steve and my boss, his boss, and her boss a “Sorry, my bad, this is an object lesson on securing one’s workstation.” It immediately blew over.
A couple years later I went to buy somebody out of a lease on a car and it turns out she was married to the one of the people in the management chain referenced in the email reply thread above , I discovered this when I went to pick it up. His response: "Hey! You were the “‘Fuck you Steve’ guy!”
I was later recognized and referenced in a job interview a year after that.
Again, this is barely on-topic but the moral of the story here: Make it count. I guess?
-
By tomorrow the game will be back and the whole thing blows over.
-
@Polk For the game.
Your rep is fucked.
-
It blows over. For Liberation.
This is gonna follow you for a loooong time lmao. This is like a mid 00’s era self own by a man child. I’m frankly in awe.
