@MisterBoring I’d think it depends on where the emphasis is in that sentence. If one refuses to RP with people they dislike, that’s fine, but avoiding RP with people they don’t specifically like can make a game feel very unwelcome indeed if it’s the norm.
That said, no individual player should be expected to carry the weight of being the welcome wagon and intake machine.

How did you get this from what I said? I said it’s a gray area. It can be innocent at first, but when it becomes exclusionary it spirals quickly out of control. Are you saying that the hate for people like VASpider who have done exclusionary things like this is unwarranted because they just didn’t like the people they excluded, and they were justified killing the games they killed?
Also, MU*s are games that tend to include a large amount of players, some of whom you are likely not to enjoy. Does this mean that your feelings as a player about another player dictate whether they can or can’t enjoy the rest of the game, and whether they get plot/job attention? Because that’s what happens when these cliques take over a game.

It’s staff’s job to break up cliques and not let them take over the entire game, staff, and culture, to not let them spread hate campaigns, and not let players be the jury of who is allowed into scenes and plots. Because that’s what happen when these things get out of control. That’s when staff needs to step in, not when it’s a group of friends playing games together.
This is a person who would do exactly that; get angry when someone in their group was RPing with someone they didn’t like, and do exclusionary things that are not healthy for a game.
It’s obviously tough for staff to tell when this is and isn’t the case, but when complaints start to pile up it should get addressed. This doesn’t happen on RetroMUX because certain staffers are part of the clique itself; they dole out plots to people the popular kids club approve of, so they’re feeding into the non-community aspect of a game.
It’s totally fine to not RP with people you don’t like. It’s not ok to make them feel unwelcome and ostracized until they leave. Players don’t get to decide to do that to another player, and behavior that rationalizes or makes excuses for this kind of thing needs to be excised from MU*s forever.

@Pavel to be fair, so did cliques back in my day. It’s not exactly the same, but every weird MUSH clique that ever existed has manipulation and it is often sexual. Important here to say that welcoming circles of friends are different than cliques or harems, we’re not talking about those here.

@MisterBoring Earlier in the thread talked about the secret giovanni discord separate from the game discord where Chaos went to talk shit about players, so it’s safe to say he’s a part of it. I’ve been away for a long while though, I don’t even know who’s still on staff other than the tags on the post of Eddie getting banned for doing all the shit I said he was.
Definitely telling though that a staffer from that game came in to say there’s never been reports about Eddie and the game is fine, yet this is what they’re posting on site.

@Cygnus Dude you literally live in your dream world. Even when it has already been pointed out I wasn’t lying you are still yammering on about lying. Which other users here pointed out to you. No one said there was no issues with Eddie. In fact, I stated that dude was a complete pecker cheese. Maybe not in those exact words. All I said is there was no reports/logs/receipts of him being a sex pest other than your constant saying that he is, which you still haven’t provided anything other than if you say it enough people will believe it. I wasn’t in the conversation for why he was banned so I can’t enlighten you anymore than what was in the post.
Secondly the conspiracy of this super secret giovanni discord chat is only slightly true. In that it was super secret when we played on Liberation because Sundance would flip shit on anyone talking on discord. You want to know what the super secret chat is 98% about? Me sharing little weiner memes and us talking about RL stuff and our travels because we are all friends who have been playing games together for a very long time. The other 2% might be a minor vent session or us organizing something we want to do in game because of we live in different time zones.
It’s only super secret to you, because when Blossom wanted to bring you into the family. I veto’d it because of the speshul snowflake behavior you exhibit. You are not a team player you are a ‘how does this benefit me and how can I be the brightest star in the sky’. That isn’t how the family operates. It was nothing against your rp, your writing, or even you on an OOC level. It was simply because you were not the right fit for what we are looking for.
As for the special staff treatment Fiorenza/Blossom got or myself? We closed the Giovanni down to condense everything to Cam for the betterment of the sphere. I literally have zero characters now. I am working on one now but guess what I am not asking for xp or any of that stuff. I’m getting a base level character despite this being the second character I have had to forcefully retire. The first being my Sabbat when I took over as the storyteller.
As for us being some clique that only rp’d with each other that is just another delusion of your mind. Me and Fio ran multiple events inviting every sphere, cause Retro allows Intersphere play, and were constantly reaching out to bring new players in for rp. Did we have some family only stuff? Yeah, we did ghostly stuff together as we should.
Oh, and for the people wondering what sort of ‘creepy’ things she sent him. Which, he obviously gave her his address willingly. I talked to her about it. It was a stuffed animal bat for his birthday because she felt bad when he felt like he was going to have a shitty birthday. You repay her by coming to these forums and trying to sling shit that she is some sort of treacherous human being sending you some sort of heinous stuff like gargantuan dongers or whatever else is considered ‘creepy’. Which, if true, and she was sending you creepy shit why did you not contact the police? Like WTF is Sundance going to do if she was sending you creepy stuff ban her from a mush? Yeah, that would stop it.
