Second, I think a lot of people use FIs to kinda test the waters of possible romance, or give a hint (sometimes more than a hint) that they’d be interested.

@farfalla I use them quite literally and if I don’t have an actual first impression I won’t leave one.

I dunno anything about this system, as my Arx OC was just put in for approval today, but wouldn’t something along the lines of:
Damn!
Be appropriate first impression if that was the characters first impression of another?
Worded more appropriately and thematically maybe?
Asking for reals, since I have no idea what sort of first impressions are… wanted?

If I got that FI when my character was doing something notably cool or impressive, like one of my characters is a fancy duelist type so maybe the other PC was watching the duel, or my other character was doing a performance or something, I’d find an FI of “Damn!” to be totally apt. Or, to be honest, even if my socialite character just arrived at a fancy party in a super impressive gown or something like that, being her socialite self. It’s succinct, but gets the point across!
You can actually look at examples on people’s character pages, too. Both sides have to set an FI as public for it to show up there, but – oh I see @farfalla has said this while I’ve been typing! Aleksei is another one in that I know a lot of mine are set public there so you can see them.

Funny enough, I will generally get too wrapped up into the scene and the story and forget about FI’s. I’m pretty sure this is what makes me bad at xp harvesting.

I don’t play on Arx but my peeve is that I keep wanting to but I get super overwhelmed trying to figure out who/what to play, and then I don’t.
