@Cobalt I’m not sure if it’s an actual medical or mental condition - but I’ve never, ever seen Macha actually admit actual fault (not without a ‘but’ or redirection of blame). I’ve never heard of her taking a ownership mentality. Has anyone else?
She uses her purported “Oppositional Defiance Disorder” as a shield. You can’t be upset with her being a bitch because she has a condition!
Not to be an inconsiderate asshole, but is this a legitimate condition? Actually curious.

@Testament let me google that for you . com
But yes, it’s a legit diagnosis
-
@hellfrog You know, about five seconds after I posted I thought, “you idiot you have a phone”
But I was also too lazy to delete the post. However, thanks

It’s most prevalent in children, but I imagine people who grow up without some kind of therapeutic intervention retain the traits and thus the diagnosis.

@Testament I refuse to speculate if she actually has this disorder, but it is a legitimate diagnosis, typically found in children but occasionally in adults:
https://www.additudemag.com/oppositional-defiant-disorder-in-adults/
Snippets from link:
Oppositional Defiant Disorder in Adults
Adults with oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) display a pattern of negative, hostile, and defiant behavior that lasts at least six months and includes four (or more) of the following symptoms:- Often loses temper
- Often argues with family and coworkers
- Actively defies or refuses to comply with rules and laws
- Deliberately annoys people
- Blames others for his or her mistakes or misbehavior
- Easily annoyed by others
- Angry and resentful
- Spiteful or vindictive
That said, just because you have a condition that makes you act like an asshole doesn’t mean we have to tolerate that behavior. We’re allowed to ask you to leave if you won’t stop shitting on the carpet, metaphorically.
-
Mental illness or not, her actions are still her own.
I have a neat little collection of mental fuckery of my own, my actions are still my own. The impacts of my actions are still my responsibility.
Mental health diagnoses are a reason, not an excuse. So speculation on the topic is not only unhelpful but unimportant. Ill or not, it’s her job to deal with it.
-
I have a nephew who has it and it is terrible to deal with on all sides. He would go from sweet little boy to throwing chairs in the blink of an eye. And then he’d be crying and overwhelmed as he didn’t want to be the way he was.
But he is a child.
While yes it is a real thing and yes it can be very hard to deal with and function, hiding behind your disability is not cool.

I certainly think she has ‘all of the above’.
No matter the circumstance, if someone is toxic to those around them sometimes they need to step back. Or people need to distance. Mental health is a real thing in the community and such a negative influence can really grind someone down.
-
@CuriousGamer Either way, disorders and disabilities can be an explanation but they are not an excuse. We still need to own what we do.

I have noticed I say female a lot, and I am definitely not a creepy dude or an incel.
I am seventeen creepy frogs from the abyss in a cardigan.
A better one. Part of the total non-art of AI. https://imgur.com/a/boX776W

@Narson yeah we’re all looking horrified

@Nobody-0 Thanks for the heads up. I’m luckily not within her grasp for vengeance. I’m not on CA and kinda just idle in general.

@CuriousGamer You really don’t need to tag people to tell them they’re being quoted elsewhere. I don’t care if people talk about it, but basically: if people want to follow this thread, or go look at MSB sometimes, they will, but you don’t need to actively poke them to tell them someone’s talking about them.
-
To me, worrying and following what she does on her ‘safe place’ is just validating her and helping her ‘prove she is right that everyone here us horrible and Cobalt is awful’. It sucks to have someone constantly bad mouthing you, I do mean for her too even if it is starting to sound deserved by her behavior, but going there seems like feeding into her stories by ‘proving her right’ and continuing her desire to cause drama.
Her behavior there and insisting on continuously setting out to slander people, even when it seems to have been dropped by the people she talks too, she considers her ‘enemies’ makes me think she deserves this warning post about her. I was willing to give the benefit of doubt since as far as I know, I have not interacted with her to any real level if at all. People get upset when something they like is taken from them, i was willing to think that was what was happening (I know that was a rose colored glasses view). My desire to give a benefit of doubt has faded.
I just don’t think going to msb and bringing the drama there to here is just setting the separation of here and there. I 100% think everyone has the right to be upset and angry about what she’s doing. In case it was thought that people shouldn’t was what I am saying.
-
@CuriousGamer why are you involving me in this?
ETA: if i cared to comment on any thread on MSB, then I would. I do not know why she would want to quote me about anything regarding defending herself, as to my knowledge i’ve never RPed with her (or if I did it was unknowing or such a long time ago and unremarkable as to not really stay in my memory, so it was neither a bad experience or an ecstatic one).
So if she hates me or something, I really have no clue why, unless it’s just a flailing thing, in which case it’s certainly not personal, because I’ve never done anything to harm this person. And I can’t imagine that she could possibly say anything that would hurt me more than other whisper campaigns have in the past (and I have a pretty good track record of being vindicated with those nearly every time someone has tried it). The folks on MSB that would be eager to agree that I’m a terrible person already think that and she in no way could possibly influence that.
As Roz said. It is NOT a kindness to tell someone “hey, people are talking about you!” in a situation like this. I assume there are plenty of people out there who can say all sorts of mean things about me, and probably do. If I had to constantly be vigilant about that kind of shit then I would have even less energy for RP than I do now. I play several places, for the most part very happily, with people who are happy to RP with me, and I’d like to keep it that way.
The MSB split is very painful for me personally and it’s always going to be that way. That’s not your fault, but please be considerate and don’t tag me in like this for this kind of cross board stuff in the future.
-
@mietze Sorry, it just rubbed me the wrong way that she was trying to use other people’s words to… I don’t know what. Won’t do it again.
-
@Tez There seems to be a few bad actor threads now, would it make sense to put them into their own ‘Bad Actor’ kind of topic at this point? I know there’s been a couple discussions of others in the not too distant past as well.
-
For the record, just as a player, I would love to have less focus on what’s going on over there. If I wanted to read what was happening on MSB, I’d go to MSB. The cross-forum drama doesn’t necessarily need to be escalated by breathless reporting back to here.
At a certain point, it starts to feel like people are trying to stir things up and keep drama happening.

No. We don’t need a whole section of the forum devoted to talking shit about specific people.
