Even if certain species mature at ages humans would consider ‘under age’, I’d still suggest mandating an 18+ (for players and characters) limit.
Sure, Mission Vao might have technically been an adult at 14, but she was still child-like in many aspects and there was no romantic nor sexual content involving her. You can’t say the same for people on your game.
To sort of prove (or at least make) a point, if you Google “mission vao fan art” sooner rather than later you’re going to find something you’ll wish you hadn’t.
Very much sooner, good fuckin lord.

The problem is people.

That’s Rule 34 for ya, unfortunately.

The best part is I never even googled it, I just assumed those results were there.

Since the game opened and changed some of it’s policies and is now advertising, I figured I’d re-open the discussion page!
Upping the minimum age to 16 and making the game PG-13 overall is kind of a solve I guess. Making TS a bannable offense is also a kind of solve. Not that it’s going to stop people from locking themselves in a spaceship and getting lewd with each other.
The question, I guess, is still why?

I mean, this policy change was noticed and remarked upon. I’ll just quote myself from November 2023 when this was seemingly done in reaction to this board.

Nov 9, 2023, 1:47 PMThe game’s policies appear to have been updated so 16 years old is now the minimum (which doesn’t seem to really solve the problem) and also to entirely ban TS, which is a choice. Go with God on enforcing this stuff, I guess.
I really and truly don’t see the difference between 16+ and 13+ and this continues to be a policy that looks driven by 'we want some underage player/staffer to be able to play here and will write the rules around them.
That said, go with God.

@Third-Eye I didn’t even look back to earlier here. Just saw in the Game Ad ‘we have updated to X and Y’ and replied for that.
So basically… we already covered it and I forgot. Still gonna yell at them about it. Take your upvote as apology!

I’ll go a step further and say that MUs are not child-friendly, and trying to enforce a PG13 rating is an exercise in futility (speaking as someone who once foolishly tried). Inviting kids, even at 16, is a horrible idea and I condemn it.

In the same way that banning marijuana is a solve.

It will also guarantee staff is gonna watch, and wait till you finish. If you get banned fast, you probably did something they weren’t into.
