Double post because I don’t believe in double post rules (nor drinking water when told to). I’m in my last week at the current job and it’s so freeing. The director likes to scream at my department in meetings. Today is meeting. I thought about it and was like, “Nah, I’m going to pass today.” Which got sort of a blink of confusion. This led to, “I’m out in three days. Why would I want to spend one of them in a meeting getting yelled at about something I can’t change that has passed, or something that will be happening when I’m not here? In fact, since that was all left on my calendar. I’m going to head out for the day and use some of my vacation time left. Have a great day, see you tomorrow.”
Then I booked a massage for the day after my last day. I’m telling you, I should have bit the bullet and did this a year or two ago.

To be fair, I did actually utter the phrase: Is that insubordination? Isn’t that a 3 day suspension? I’m willing to play the odds and take it.

You were just a bit too south. The western part of Massachusetts is the best place in America. Amazing deep forests and mountain hollers but the Amherst-Northampton area of the Pioneer Valley has so much student and academic population that it’s hippy progressive paradise with the amenities and services of an urban zone. You can shop at a great used books store, get a deconstructed gourmet sandwich and a craft beer, then 5 drive five minutes in any direction to bury the bodies out in the deep woods where no one will ever find them.

@shit-piss-love I was just outside the Bristol area. Gorgeous country around there and going for hikes was one of my favorite things to do but man did I see some fucked up stuff that made even my white trash self need to do a double take.

Letterkenny depicts Canada but it’s pretty spot on for the entirety of north-east rural areas of North America.
