It was a few years ago so I’ll refrain and avoid the drama. I’ve only just started talking and not lurking!
Game didn’t last long. I honestly can’t remember the actual name though I could probably find it with some poking around.

@Juniper said in Neon Protocol:
The elephant in the room is how Neon Protocol straight up looks like a scenario in AI dungeon. I was immediately repelled by it.
This – aside from terrible AI in general, the aesthetic is very jarring with the NEON colors juxtaposed with the “small town farmer’s market flyer” sort of AI slop.
I get that it’s trying for small town supernatural but definitely missing that mark. Also I get that not everyone’s an artist or adept at PhotoShop but we existed for decades without it on Mu*s, we don’t need it now.
I don’t mind on principle if admin don’t link to a prior Ares handle, but I do think they should always be up front about their PCs played in the game they are staffing. If they create a new Ares handle for the game so all the bits are linked, cool, but at the very least put the PCs on their admin page so everyone knows who they are playing. Especially when (in the case of NP) the policies say “our goal is to be fair, transparent, and consistent, which may not please everyone at all times.” – lol
Personally I admit that I get a little wary if I don’t know who a staffer is, that’s true, but I also get people wanting a clean slate or separating staffing from playing. Still… I have been to a game I didn’t know was staffed by a certain problematic player until I got there, and then the game was unsurprisingly terrible… so I get the reasoning behind it.

Yes. Agree.
I don’t mind admin being in a scene they run; having run a LOT of scenes in other places as an ST, if I didn’t have my character in their scenes, it would seem like my character didn’t do a damn thing. But I definitely stood back and let other players do the lion’s share of the work.
If admin on Neon don’t want to have an Ares handle, that’s cool, but they can definitely link their PCs and not JUST their NPCs on their admin page.

at least 2 when players were only allowed 1, and both were roster chars initially which makes it seem like an extra layer of subterfuge.
