Been trying to engage less online and focus more on myself, especially the last few months. Seems to be progressing well, since July 1st I’ve lost 50 pounds and focused on doing more physical activities despite the triple digit heat (though getting used to it more now… kind of).

I have had run-ins with this person on another game. I have heard similar stories from that game.
I’ve also heard stories from people I’ve known who played on AoA.

So, uh, I believe what is being reported here 100%.

I interacted with him on another game. He is exhausting. Very fucking exhausting. And I say this as a male so I wasn’t exposed to his sex pest side, but there were points of just being around him that I wanted to yeet him into the sun.

Pretty much this. I read through the files for at least an hour and a half yesterday and no where has anything been said about conflict based on how people look. In fact, given the rest of game policy I’m pretty sure anyone coming into the game trying to do just that would be shown the door quickly.

I have missed a lot in this thread but I feel the need to make a couple of comments.

Back in 1996-2000, I was RPing in AOL chat rooms and starting my MU RP journey. I had a number of cyber/TS scenes throughout that time when I was 15-17 with people who were admittedly in their 20s and 30s. There were people who knew I was not 18 and would still engage. They presented as female.

At the time, I thought it all very fun and exciting but I was also a horny ass teenage male, so you know, my brain wasn’t thinking of whether or not such things were appropriate. My brain was very much like sexsexsexsexsex.

I lived in rural Atlanta at the time and I even had invitations to see some of these people at Dragoncon. I never went, and over the years I’ve wondered what might have happened. Now, I just look back on it and am kind of like “What the fuck”

As an adult, I’ve strictly tried to keep any RP with people who are 18 and up. I think 18+ is generally the best policy for a MU or RP game simply because there ARE people who would do creepy stuff. In fact, I’ll go as far as to say that I think RPing as underage people is super borderline to me and I will never play someone who isn’t at least 18 or 19.

I gotta be honest. I don’t know how you can have a game with an “R rating” but also allow 13 year olds. Why not just keep the R rating and say 18+ only?

Timejump XP Updates (Non-FS)

As we approach closer to the timejump, post-time jump XP and Sheet adjustments going forward will be:

For all Non-FS, 1000 XP base award
PLUS 150 per 5 years of a 15 year age-up.

Thus:

0 years: 1000xp
5 years: 1150xp
10 years: 1300xp
15 years: 1500xp

FS Characters will be handled separately. The goal with the XP award is to allow our Non-FS characters to come to greater parity with their level of skill after a fifteen year increase.

All XP adjustments will be handled by hand and annotated per character so that if a PC is shelved and their XP is rolled into a new PC, it will not include the XP gained by the time jump. Only their normally accrued experience points, as has always been the case.

Any Non-FS who wish to change their decision on whether or not they will be aging up and by how much, please either add a reply to your existing job or submit a new +request if you have not done so yet. Anyone who does not submit a +request will be assumed to be aging the full 15 years.

If you have more than one alt, you may include your decisions for all of them in one +request, just make sure to note each alt and your choice going forward.

The original ‘awards’ were 0 XP for not aging, 150 for aging five years, 300 for aging 10 years, and the full 500 for aging the full 15 years, just so nobody has to scroll back a mile or two. Quite a difference, don’t you think?

Going to chime in but a few people here talking about Macha’s bad behavior in the past is not the first time I’ve seen or experienced Macha’s bad behavior. In fact the experiences shared are similar to the ones I did, and others I know did.

I mean, clearly there’s been no effort to change or improve so pardon me for not believing what she has to say about the Farfalla Incident.

As for Cliques or Internet Friend Groups or Dogpiling Squads or whatever people want to call them, I am by no means part of any such group. And you know what, I’ve kinda been where you are. Sometimes it’s hard to see things being said against people you believe are friends or people you like. That’s just part of being human, but sometimes the things being said are true and you learn too late that someone you thought was a friend is really not. That’s another part of being human. I’m glad you are here listening to what people are saying though, and I do hope you take it to heart. I don’t think anyone is acting in a particularly malicious way towards VulgarKitten or Macha. I just think people are over giving people who clearly don’t learn chance after chance to improve. At some point you have to realize that they just aren’t going to change.

I’m happy to have “finished” moving. I’ll be happier whenever I feel like finishing unpacking but blaarrgghh. I’ll take a small victory first and worry about the larger one later, lol.

@Testament I think that there’s still work going on behind the scenes to try and balance weapons and armor for FS3 combat. I could be way off base of course, but that’s the impression I’ve gotten. I can’t fault them for that, it IS Alpha so now is the time to tweak and tweak and tweak and I’m not sure a BIG PC combat in a BIG GM scene is the best time to test and tweak the system. But I get where you’re coming from and they do want feedback so for sure send in that request.

I love that people act like lying isn’t a big deal but there’s lying and lying. I mean, me telling my dad I didn’t drink any of his alcohol when I was 16 and he was away for a weekend is a lie but it’s totally different from the rampant manipulative shit that goes on in MUdom.
