That just seems like a risky move in a hobby that is already full of “What were you doing in private with THEM?!”.
if anyone pages me that I’m sending them explicit TS poses, you’ve all been warned
don’t threaten us with a good time

I’m primarily distract/async due to, well, life, but I’ve found that there’s async and then there’s ASYNC. I’m fine with async with poses as infrequent as maybe once a day or two but after a while, I find myself in situations where people pose every 3-4 days and I find myself unable to even focus properly as my head just falls out of the situation.
Again, I know this is necessary sometimes, it’s just not ideal for me.

Personally I always found the “+watch” code from days of yore intensely uncomfortable. Not because I was doing anything truly private (I post most of my scenes anyway), but just because it bothers me feeling like I have someone looking over my shoulder.
Yep yep yep, exactly the same. I’m not a nervous person - I don’t get stage-fright, I’m not bashful about asking for RP, I don’t even mind having people read my logs. But having someone watch my RP live twigs me in a way I can’t put my finger on.
Part of it is that I’m willing to be a lot more vulnerable in private RP, especially if it’s with somebody I’m comfortable with, and letting that out in “private” and then sharing it afterward is a lot different than letting someone uninvolved watch things unfold live. There’s a rawness in the moment of writing something (even if it’s a crazy async scene) that gets lost in logs. I know I’ve read my own logs after the fact and been like “wow, this scene felt a lot more emotional when I was writing it than when I’m reading it.”

11th hour addition, but I’m team “whatever gets me good RP.”
My IDEAL would be 100% live scenes, all the time, but that’s not realistic for most people (myself included) so most of the time I do distract, where it might be live sometimes but then someone has a meeting or whatever, or is just doing other things and takes 20 minutes to pose. And that works nicely, it’s basically live but a little slower than that. I also think I write better in more live-type scenes. I think it helps me to delve into things more when it’s happening in the moment.
BUT, I know some people who are amazing writers, and all they can do is async. So I will do async with them so that I may bask in their amazingness.
Re: the +where/active scenes debate… I have absolutely been harassed before by people who see I’m scening with someone and make assumptions about what we’re doing, e.g. You Stole My Wife! (I did not steal any wives.) Or “You’re posing there and not for me whyyyyy.” So I’d be pro-removing listings for private scenes. Logs posted are the better gauge for whether a game is actually active anyway.

Buuuuuuut that’s precisely the sort of thing a wife-stealer would say!
Seriously though, I honestly don’t have strong feelings one way or another about private scene listings but for the sake of your argument because boundary-busting creepers love to creep and bust boundaries, I’m pro-removal as well.
You made the most convincing argument.

Yep, I’m also pro removal of boundary-busting creepers.
Hiding information to appease them? Not so much. Though as mentioned, individuals are welcome to use the
hide
command:hide and unhide - Controls whether your grid location shows up on the who/where list and live scene list.

I’m stealing 1) all wives, and 2) also all husbands.
-
@Roz I actually do recommend this course of action, because even though I had to deal with someone paging me nonstop like “how could you do this to me” and “she was happy only playing with me until YOU came along,” that wife became one of my best friends. And still is!
Tl;dr steal wives, get paid $$$
-
@Roz You’d be stealing me from someone eventually.
Are you sure? (Y/N)

Lack of transparancy encourages them.

I think there’s a difference between “lack of transparency” and “privacy” and people conflate the two a lot.
