Big question is ‘do you take the cover degradation +roll for revealing secrets like mentioned on that one page of the book or no’

Cover and the Oath
“The Oath does not trigger any Compromise rolls. Reality counts as “known” with regards to this particular magic and thus does not strain the Cover to risk Glitches, nor trigger any reaction from the God-Machine. Demons have been made aware that all beings that fall under the Oath are, generally, no risk to their Cover. Your character is not compelled to spill every detail about herself the moment she feels the tingle of the Oath along her spine, but she would not react strongly to other demons sharing information with other supernaturals and supernatural humans.”

I guess what I’m asking is “Can my character do cool supernatural spy missions as part of his story?”
Absolutely.
-
@MisterBoring Cool Supernatural Spy Missions are how you undermine the God Machine. Go forth, blow things up!
-
My takeaway from this is that Demon is just a supernatural version of Burn Notice.
-
@Testament Not far from the truth. I don’t have my book in front of me, but I believe Burn Notice is mentioned in the inspiration, along with Person of Interest.
-
@MisterBoring I may, eventually, slowly, one day make a Demon, but I think I read the term ‘burned’ in the first 30 pages I read this past weekend. Probably why it came to my head.

My name is Percy. I used to be a Angel from God, until…

When you’re burned, you’ve got nothing.
No cash, no credit, no job history.
You’re stuck in whatever body they decide to dump you in… -
@Pavel I’m more of a Sam Axe kind of guy myself.
-
@Testament Oh agreed. He turned me onto mojitos and I rarely drink anything else when I get the opportunity.

Fi for the win.
… it probably says something that my favorite characters from BN and PoI are Fi and Shaw…
…well, the human characters, from PoI. There are at least two non-human characters that trump everyone else.

Mixed up BURN NOTICE and BURN AFTER READING, and boy, lemme tell you, that changed the meaning of this post a whole bunch
-
@Rinel Burn After Reading is about a bunch of highly confused Stigmatics and their attempt at playing in the big leagues.
-
-
I’d just like to say that I was not the person who first brought up Mummies, nor am I the one making an Egypt-affiliated character.
-
I made a character and then immediately got eaten by work and life nonsense and I feel bad that I haven’t really done anything beyond cg and saying hello.
-
@MisterBoring My dude, one of my PCs has been in an async scene for a very long time because other-player had to go AWOL for a bit because life. The game’s basically built for that idea, and it’s totally okay.
-
@MisterBoring don’t worry, you’ve finished cg so you’re still ahead of Jennkryst!
Game will be here when RL lets up-- I keep telling myself that too, lol
-
@sao Joke’s on you. She finished.
-
I do look forward to doing sneaky super spy stuff when I finally can get free enough to even start a scene.

Look Chargen is hard enough before you hit submit and get told ‘actually we changed the rules’
and you go
‘okay, I will adjust my character to fit the new ru-’
‘actually we changed the rules again’so it becomes easier to just… start from scratch.
This also won’t beat my record-setting Otaku stuck-in-chargen since at least 2009, on Shadowrun: Denver, so 21 days is like… nothing (but Shadowrun: Denver shenanigans is a discussion for another thread!)

@Tez @Jennkryst It was still funny and I regret nothing
