Seems all too often Discordia’s mantra on dealing with players is shoot, shoot, aim.
Oh my god, I literally had this conversation with someone about an hour ago, when they asked why I hadn’t asked Discordia about X Imperial plot. “Because she’s about as friendly and easy to talk to as a buzz saw?” “She’s just brusque! I’m brusque!” And I’m just like, “No, it’s a little more than that.”

It is strange that Discordia is attempting to police item transactions, as she is the player who was caught cheating the item system before she was promoted to staff.
-
I’m starting to feel like the staff on this game are not to be trusted, you guys

Why can’t we have a nice SW MUSH that is run by stable personalities, has a nice large-ish grid (As much as I think AoA’s grid is pretty expansive and nice, it’s a bit too much at times…), isn’t run by people cough Disc cough who are death on anything other than G rated stuff, while making sure that the place isn’t overrun by the Shang crowd.
Because everyone who isn’t me hates space code.
… okay, most people who aren’t me hate it, there are some folks who enjoy space trucking.

After talking to Cujo about what happened, he pointed out that he had no idea who Ruby was, and did not mean to intentionally lie to me. And that’s fairly plausible, to be honest. And while I’m still not happy with how everything went down, he did offer to show me the complete logs of when he confronted some friends over the ruling that caused the whole thing. So I don’t think he was trying to be duplicitous. It would be extremely easy to compare those logs to what my friends had.
A few recent comments have made it seem like all this has been an ‘Ah ha!’ moment that all the staff on AoA are bad, and that wasn’t my original take on things. I still like to believe the best in people, but actions do speak louder than words, and Cujo taking the time to talk to me rather than banning me speaks fairly well of him as a person.
I like to correct things as more information becomes available, and I try to be as fair as possible. There’s always more context to be had.
(Still sad my friends are gone though.)

The bar is so low it makes my dating standards seem excessive.

Yeah. Gonna call BS on this. Cujo has known Rey’s player for a long, long (like well over 15 years by this point) time. He went so far as to tell ME when I was on staff that he was bringing her on as Rey from outside of the game because of how well he knew her. There is absolutely no way he doesn’t know how she behaves, and also this is far, faaaar from the first time that he’s driven off other people in response to Rey being upset about something.
This is what he does though. He outright lies about things to try and smooth it over, so you think well maybe I’m wrong to be as upset as I was. You’re not. He is manipulating you because the ONLY thing that matters to him is that he keeps the numbers up on the game. He is placating you to try and do that. That is all.

Rey’s player
I was worried for a moment you meant a previous player of Rey, who I haven’t been able to talk to since THE GREAT MIGRATION, and since CatLawyer appears to have stopped paying the bill, has vanished into the aether.
Alas, woe, etc and so on.

Okay at this point I need to ask that people actually post new episodes of drama I want to read instead of turning on the reruns.
(I’m being sardonic and not serious about actually not posting in this thread. I just want something to sink my teeth into.)
