I quit the game after finishing the Judy romance because it was beautiful and I knew the ending would not be as good.
Do wish I’d been able to romance Pan-Am, tho. Judy was lovely, but not really my type.

@IoleRae said in General Video Game Thread:
Been on the fence about this one for aaaaaaaaaaaaaages. Thank you, I am so gonna grab it now.
Fair warning for you and @tsar : The translation is dodgy, and this game is DENSE.
Like, super dense. There are three ‘broad’ categories of cultivation and they each have their own ruleset. And then there are Formations, which I have not figured out and I’ve had the game for years. And a social system that is hilariously wonky. It’s a weird game. But you can have a lot of fun with it.
And if you’re lucky, a pile of poop which has turned sentient might wander into your sect, and you can eventually turn it into a magical human.
Edit: All that said? I love talking about this game, and if you do get it and want to chat about it HIT ME UP. Because I adore it and am happy to give tips or just talk about the crazy things that happen.

@Rinel Pan-Am was a good runner-up! Just too much of a temper for me.
That and she had no interest in me (Because she has her own preferences, and she be straight). I didn’t know that, and it really brought up some painful oofs when I tried and failed to get something going. Props to them for letting me still try to flirt, because the oofs actually felt better than just no dialogue options. Staring at you, here, Bioware.

Whelp.
The new WoW xpac has me excited like I haven’t been since Legion, and that’s after playing a good chunk of the pre-xpac event, not just the hype surrounding it. The new hero class is chefkiss.
-
The catch-up mechanic was pretty decent this time around, and I’m really elated at the possibility that this one might be more friendly towards alts. No borrowed power to grind (Artifacts in Legion, Azerite in BFA, Covenant, Stygia, Shards, etc in Shadowlands) will at least mean some flexibility. I hope!
Now to see what on earth they do with the story, because gosh it’s in splinters after all that Jailer nonsense.

Unfortunately, my enthusiasm is swiftly dying on account of not having been able to log in yet. Between “World server is down” and forever initializing, I haven’t been able to connect yet. I am not invested enough to hang in there.
-
@IoleRae I also experienced some launch-day blues. Finally connected today, and finding it was well worth the frustration. Hope you’re able to stick it out.
-
I’m trying. Tried during lunch today, still didn’t work.

got in
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
-
The rotation:
- Project Zomboid: honestly I had to stage my own intervention.
- Overwatch 2: you don’t have to tell me I’m basic, I know.
- Valorant: see above.
- Pokemon Scarlet, which I arbitrarily picked over Violet because it has Tyranitar and I think he’s a boss.
- Dead by Daylight: frustrating fucking game. I’m addicted.
- GTFO: this game really requires me to be patient while incentivizing me as much as possible to not be patient.
- Phasmophobia: I play this exclusively with my friends because there’s less guilt when we get one another killed (than if we did it to a complete stranger, I guess). If I find a Tarot deck, we’re all fucked.
- Okami: this is just a gorgeous game that I recently started playing through again. Big puppy sun god.
- Have a Nice Death: a very sassy sidescroller about Death, the CEO.
- Back 4 Blood: You like L4D? It’s that.
- Death’s Door: you’re a little crow whose job it is to ferry souls once their time on the mortal plane is over. Sometimes those souls don’t want to go peacefully. You have a tiny sword, clear eyes, full heart, and a very LoZ feel.

@IoleRae I had some day one difficulties but I hit max level last night. Some AMAZING quests!
Haven’t done the endgame yet too much due to work stuff but I had a blast leveling, which I can’t remember the last time I did.
-
Roadwarden. It’s like an old-school adventure book from the '80s. Reminds me of Lone Wolf, it’s on steam so amazing.

re: game awards
-
The literal only thing that I cared about with the gaming awards was that Christopher Judge won best performance.
He owned that shit as Kratos, giving a character with only meager character depth in the first three games(and I say that having played the hell out of them when they first came out), to such a nuanced and evolved character. And I think that was largely in part due to his performance.

Dwarf Fortress is finally out on Steam and I have already lost hours of my life to it. I loooove the new UI and if you haven’t ever played or tried and gave up because of how weird and arcane the controls and graphics were, it has never been more accessible and enjoyable imo.
-
@Wizz Yeah, I already started, restarted, oh God a tree fell on my one axedwarf restart again, wait I forgot how to play everything augh!!!..'d myself into a fort, and will probably get into it again after work.
All because they have the one thing I’ve asked Rim World to add for years, yet they never do - Z levels.
-
Witcher 3’s next gen update has taken an already beautiful game and gone further. A few bugs here and there but otherwise simply excellent.
With the game appearing quite often on sale on Steam, if you’ve not played it for like $7 to get 80+ hours gameplay. It is very much worth it.

@Pax If you ever want a bronze mercy pocket, I’m your girl. I’d even unmute my mic…and then mute it again when you get sick of my voice.

@Luna add me but heads up I suck: Pax#11805
