Hey, I need some help. I would like to get a phone with a really good camera on a new mobile network with plenty of data. What do you have? What are you happy with?

@Meg I like my pixel 6 a lot except it’s a lil too big for some of my girl pockets, and I’m on google fi and I love the google fi plan EXCEPT that in some boondocks areas it doesn’t get the beeeest call reception.

I have a Galaxy S21 but it was rhe cheapest version because I don’t care about thr camera. Two things with that. One, the camera on the higher models is really good. Two, my camera is really good for being the base model.
I guess it just comes down to if you prefer Apple or Android. Personally I’ll always take the latter, but that’s in part because I dislike Apple products.

Speaking from a corporate position, Verizon has better coverage but FAR worse customer service, and far more predatory pricing/contract practices. They’re also unreasonably expensive. T-Mobile has far better customer service, not quite as good of coverage, and are not quite so expensive. Don’t trust AT&T for anything ever any further than you can throw them (the whole company, not just the phones).
iPhone is more expensive but reliable – a big difference USED to be the charging cable stuff, but that’s potentially going to change here soon if it hasn’t already (EU said they had to stop, idk if they have or are going to change how they make all of their phones or if they will make two versions of each for the different markets). They break way less without protective equipment. The water resistance is excellent. It requires buying in to the Apple ecosystem (this is a huge downside).
Android is easier to find accessories for, non-proprietary, and google is integrated in basically everything
At this point the specifics of the plans are not quite indistinguishable, but close. How they manage date/minutes/etc. is basically the same across the board; the difference in prices between carriers relates to coverage more than plan choices.
Flagship devices for both Apple and Android have comparable cameras. Oh, lol, here:
These are not actual flagship devices themselves, but the comparison holds.

I confess, I’m an iphone girl through and through. But Samsung Galaxies can survive a trip through a washing machine, which is definitely an outstanding feature in my book (and my husband has one and likes it a lot).

I love my galaxy but my only experience with iPhone is my dad needing me to help him figure out how to do things on it despite the fact that I have never used an iPhone so I hate every encounter I have with it.

I switched to galaxy when I was doing a lot of gig delivery work and wanted faster performance specifically on certain platforms. I’ve been happy with it since though switching from years of iPhone use was an adjustment but I probably won’t go back.

It’s a chonky beast of a phone.
My pockets are strained to bursting, but the camera is so good, I can’t bring myself to part with it. Screen’s predictably gorgeous because like… it’s huge. And the speakers are surprisingly decent for a phone.
I am very pleased with it, even if it wants to murder my clothing and sometimes doesn’t recognize my fingerprint.

I really like my Pixel 6 Pro until it sometimes forgets how to make phonecalls.
But the responsiveness, screen, camera and interface are excellent. And at this point I’m too bought into the Google ecosystem to shop outside of Android devices anyway.

Ah, yes. I just call that the Forced Airplane Mode Tutorial feature. An interactive game where you stare blankly for a few seconds, then jab airplane mode on, then off, then stare blankly until the bars come back.
It’s a quality feature.
Real talk, yes, is annoying and I hope they fix that.
