So I must admit I have no idea what Elder Tales Online is - I apparently mistakenly took it as some sort of MMO - like Elder Scrolls or something. I don’t even know if it’s good or not. Sounds like .hack, sword art online, or something?

@CuriousGamer It’s a MUSH with an isekai theme. So the players of an MMO get sucked into the MMO, I believe.

You people just love to persecute and pick apart what people are saying, and try to find fault for the sake of your love of drama.
Then if you believe that, there is nothing to gain by arguing with us. You cannot win the fight, because the mere act of fighting grants the victory to us, as it feeds our love of drama and our devotion to persecuting people. You also cannot change our minds, since we are too evil (or too delusional, I suppose, but I assume you think we’re evil since the graphic tortures you have repeatedly wished on us in the past would be pretty fucked up to do to someone who literally can’t help it) to ever stop.
Just, please, if this is really what you think is going on here–that you are the innocent victim and everyone else is a monster who has no reason to be angry at you despite me explaining in self-flagellating detail why maybe we did and still do–then you have nothing to gain by putting yourself back into our evil lair. Go somewhere that subhuman wretches like us don’t visit, where everyone knows you’re totally cool about respecting women’s boundaries unlike what the crazy bitches over here say to try to tear innocent men down.
Because, seriously, I don’t have it in me to keep trying to reach you or to deal with your…whatever it is you have going on. Please. If we’re all evil bitches, then leave us alone before our evil can affect you more than it has.

@shit-piss-love You can find all the context starting here! It was a wild conversation spanning many pages, but it was at least a contained conversation.
What I needed in my life today was a half dozen full on belly chuckles and this delivered, thank you.
edit: I had almost stopped at him trying to shame people for having boundaries with “Mind you, you have to soft verify you’re over 18 to play on this MUSH.” and I am glad I didn’t because it just got better and better. Don’t you love it when you can smell someone’s belief structure through the internet?
double edit: Holy shit I need to find a way to work “I wouldn’t have to mainsplain if ya’ll would stop being wrong about the facts.” into my future conversations.

And on that note, it’s a damn tragedy that the WORA archive is lost to time. For much the same reason.

@shit-piss-love I’m going to pick a fight in the Arx staff channel just to use it. Maybe about mangos or something.

I had forgotten this thread. I don’t know how I did, but wow. Talk about some awful bit of history!

It was legitimately one of my favorite days of MSB drama because of how mind-bogglingly ridiculous the whole thing was.
Even more than the Kristi Yamaguchi War? (Which I somehow managed to miss, damn it.)

@Roz Alas, as I said, I missed it but only heard that it was A Thing. Maybe someone who participated in it or spectated it could relate the details.

Man, the irony of that dude coming here and still being such a dense shit that he doesn’t understand that what would have just been a brief throwaway chuckle is now its own thread where people reminisce about how legitimately awful and psychotic he was, directly because he came back to complain about it in a way that illustrates how nasty and unrepentant he still is years later.

As a 42 year old man who loved Cadbury Cream Eggs, I noticed this all kicked up the week after Easter. I really hope this isn’t the Easter Bunny with an egg fetish. Were baskets mentioned at any time?

@Adora Aww man, I should’ve used that!
