Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty
-
So I have been staying up very late with a small child strapped to me (newborn with GERD) playing through Cyberpunk 2077 again now that the Phantom Liberty expansion & 2.0 is out and I got to say it’s so good. It really feels like the game that CDPR had intended it to be back in 2020.
Also…
I sided with Reed during my playthrough and holy shit, the scene that follows that is some of the most tense survival horror I’ve played in a long time.
Anywho, if you’ve been waiting to get into it or on the fence about it, I would suggest checking it out now.
Here’s my V build; I went Netrunner as per my usual:

-
@somasatori I recently was gifted the game and I’m trying to get into the mindset of it, mod it to my taste.
Any must-have quality of life mods you’re running?
Hope your playthrough is awesome! -
I’ve been thinking about picking it up but I’m not ready to confront the fact that it was originally released three years ago.
jesus christ
-
@Tez And it’s STILL a flagship/benchmark. The recovery on this game was impressive, we really thought it was gonna be a bad meme.
-
@Muscle-Car I’ve actually never used mods for CP2077! There were a couple that were suggested to me, specifically the following:
- Better loot markers (I really want to do a non-achievements run with this one because the loot markers can be super annoying)
- CP2077 Tools
- Metro System (not sure if this is still usable with 2.0/PL)
- AI Netrunners Enhanced (again, not sure if this is still usable with 2.0. The AI netrunners are better than they were, but still pretty weak by comparison to a pure netrunner V)
And for me, I really want to try:
- River Romance Enhanced
- Judy Romance Enhanced
Have fun with it! It’s a great game and definitely has that cyberpunk to post-cyberpunk feel these days.
@Tez It’s wild to think that it’s been 3 years. I picked up CP2077 during my second semester of my PhD program. Since then I’ve put an embarrassing number of hours on it.

@somasatori Awesome, thanks so much.

-
I wish I could play first person camera games without getting sick.

-
@sao Get your friend/honey/well-trained house pet to play it for you and tell them what to do haha. I totally make my partner play games for me when they’re ones I can’t/won’t play.
Like jumpscare games. Heck that!
-
@Muscle-Car my cats are even worse at video games than I am!

@sao said in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty:

I’ve heard that playing them windowed with a solid or patterened background helps a lot.

All in on chroming up and getting that sandy, baby.
I just need handlers to stop whining that I wasn’t undercover enough. Oh, boo hoo. If you wanted stealth you called the wrong merc, choom. I’ve got a handful of grenades a katana and if you’ve got a problem, yo, I’ll solve it, but it’s going to involve the entire block being set on fire and everyone involved being decapitated. I don’t have an anger problem, Regina, I’ve got an anger solution. Now step aside, cos I need to crouch behind that box for thirty seconds until the cops decide they aren’t getting paid enough to deal with this shit.
-
For real, Regina getting mad at me because I zeroed a whole bar of Tyger Claws after they caught me trying to bust in and steal a cyber-eye that her dumbass choom wagered in their casino.
Fuck him, and fuck you.
I should have just sold that eye to Vik.

Well I’m about 75 hours in. I’m going super slow on the story so I can just relish combat.
My primary attack is charge, dash, ads+time slow, headshot bouses like whoa (just did my first 3K damage headshot yesterday at level 35 hehe). Basically parkour charges my attacks and I whip around a power sniper rifle like a pistol. My hacks are all anti-mech/anti-drone/counterhack.
And I just got air dash. It’s got me all hot and bothered.
️The game still has a decent amount of jank and glitches but as someone with like 5K hours in Bethesda games this is tolerable. I’m having a blast.
How’s it coming for y’all?
-
I rather like the suicide quickhack. That and cyberpsychosis are my two favorites.
Also, River’s job concerning his nephew is legitimately disturbing. Which is awesome.
-
The Reflexes tree feels AMAZING. When fully specced in to, the dashes feel absolutely freeing. Air dashing is free? You better believe I’m bunny hop double-jump-dashing my way everywhere.
-
@Solstice On a long enough timeline all cars get an LS. On a long enough timeline, all gun play becomes TF2’s Scout.

-
@SpaceKhomeini I started a new run as a Solo rather than my usual Netrunner build and I got this flak for “not putting in effort” from Regina for the first time. I had the exact same reaction.
