@howyadoin okay

Yeah.
Letās not lie OOC in order to convince people to fuck us IC.
Okay?
I totally agree! But now am curious what sort of OOC lies this inspired? Maybe not necessarily the situation but like⦠people saying āhey Iām interested in this relationship with our PCs, I promise no drama!ā orā¦?
-
@catzilla Blatantly lied OOC about compliance with a game policy others were trying to enforce to convince them it was okay to fuck.

Whatās the gameās ts policy? And how are they uh, enforcing compliance?
-
@helvetica Kind of beside the point because the gripe is lying OOC to obtain consent where it would not have otherwise been given.
-
@howyadoin Yeah and now itās coming off as super weird and at least a little bit shady without at least some further context. Best of luck, though.

Iām dying out here. Whatās the policy?
ETA: Okay, okay, okay. A good and wise friend has pointed out to me that perhaps it makes sense to not want to say in all cases. Obviously lying to get TS is really fucking bad tho, okay?
-
@Tez GDPR compliance. TS can only be between EU member states.
-
@Rathenhope Wanna break some laws?
-
@Tez itās okay Iām not in the EU anymore

-
@howyadoin You right. My bad. Maintain your privacy on this one, peace. The compliance stuff set off my alarm bells.

Outside of the EU itās just sparkling cybersex.
-
To be honest I feel like TS is probably the #1 thing MU*ers lie OOCly to get, I donāt know why this peeve would strain credulity.
-
@Kestrel lol I assure you, credulity remains unstrained indubitably. The second response just had the whiff of there being some kind of new and interesting sex rule
that was being broken ??? instead of like⦠a normal ass rule like not creeping on someone with an undisclosed alt. Thatās all. -
@helvetica Aye, my read of it was similar and so was my reaction. It was less āI donāt believe youā and more ā⦠more details please, spill all of the tea.ā

Alright alright alright.
I just didnāt want this to turn into a discussion about policy when itās not a matter of the policy involved but of obtaining consent under false pretenses.
There is a prohibition on relationship roleplay with characters that have been in the game for less than two weeks. The rule applies even to returning players playing a new character.
āPatā violated this policy multiple times. Fine. But in at least two of those times, āPatā also provably lied about how long their character had been in game (when directly asked by the other players involved) in order to obtain their consent. In both, āPatā significantly exaggerated their characterās time in the game.
āPatā knew the rule. A characterās creation date as well as their number of days in the game are spelled out on their sheet, which āPatā knows. It wasnāt a matter of forgetfulness or plain uncertainty.
āPatā was caught and removed from the game.

Youāre right. That sucks.
I just had the same reaction as @helvetica and was leaning back in my chair thinking about the the wild world of policies. Thinking about comic games making unfortunate rules about character gender and sexuality. IDK.
Our hobby sure is a place sometimes.
