For various reasons, I am unable to eat anything. Drinking milk is as close as I get to meals. That’s not my peeve.

My peeve is, as I sit here regarding the jug of chocolate milk near to hand, why is there not a pumpkin spice milk? It’s gotta be possible, and I know it would sell.

@GF Apparently it exists though I can’t speak for the quality.

@GF That sounds like you want chai latte without the black tea, right? If spice is ok with your food limitations, here’s a rough recipe:

Get a pot and toast cardamom pods, whole cloves, ground nutmeg and a cinnamon stick over medium-high heat until it starts smelling really nice, usually 1-2 minutes. Add in a half inch piece of finely sliced raw ginger and a cup of water and bring to a boil. Once boiling, lower the heat to a simmer and cook for about five-ten minutes, depending on how strong you want it.

Optional: black peppercorn (omitted in case that’s too spicy for you) and star anise (I don’t like it myself). Basically think flavors you like in chai tea or gingerbread cookies etc. You can also totally use ground spices if you don’t have whole ones, just be careful they don’t burn when toasting.

Add two cups of milk (and optional vanilla essence) and lightly simmer for five minutes. Remove from heat and strain through a strainer into two mugs.

You can also use this to make really delicious spiced hot cocoa, I do that a lot in holiday season.

Sounds like a good recipe and I’ll try it, but nah, I was just being disgruntled that I can drive two miles to a grocery store that sells chocolate milk, strawberry milk, banana milk, orange creamsicle milk, cookies n cream milk, root beer milk, and cotton candy milk, but I can’t get pumpkin spice milk except by combining a gallon milk with a box of pumpkin spice Cheerios. Like, fine, I know liking pumpkin spice probably makes me a basic bitch or whatever, but this basic bitch wants a jug of pumpkin spice milk to soothe the gurgles in her tummy!

@GF I know I’m like a week late to replying to this, but my kid is a crazy fan of pumpkin spice. I’ve been putting a splash of pumpkin spice coffee creamer into his milk instead of chocolate syrup. That recipe with the spices and milk sounds amazing, but so often I need something that takes 5 seconds instead of 5-10 minutes.

Meeting someone nice and pulling a red flag not long after, and being right about it even though friends/family make me doubt a warning system that has a pretty decent track record.

And then meet a new person who doesn’t pull a red flag and I don’t know how to act around them and wind up being a flailing awkward batch of dumb.

                            There is no in between.

Throwing out the last few pieces of week-old sliced bread, discovering they still haven’t grown any mold, and wondering what the hell I’ve been putting in my body.

Being told to do the wrong thing by bosses, explaining that it is the wrong thing, and being told that I am wrong and that I should do it their way. Despite multiple people with decades of experience in the field telling me that I’m doing it the right way.

Last night I went to the district’s big Halloween thing. It was fun.

Tonight I went to husband’s work Halloween thing.

                                    Both were enjoyable.

Now I don’t want to people for a long long long time.

I have been so depleted from 3 weeks of horrible smoke and then an upper respiratory infection that my short term prednisone prescription doesn’t make my high and hyperactive for the first three days. I don’t even have insomnia. I crash out hard after being functional and out of bed for awhile.

I miss rp. I miss volunteering. I miss work (though did pull an 8 hour for the first time this week). But at least I can sleep and the weather is cool and rainy and glorious and eventually maybe I can get on top of thus fatigue. But if its been noticed on my games I’m not around too much that’s why.

I bought insurance through my employer the last open enrollment period because I needed mental health support, and the plan my partner pays for (Kaiser) has good healthcare but lousy mental health support - so I’ve kept using my partner’s plan as my primary medical facility while getting standard checkups and such at the Kaiser Medical Center, using the Kaiser insurance, and using my own healthcare for mental health appointments. Thought it was an expensive workaround, but ultimately a smart thing for my mental health.

Last month, I had a surgery performed at the Kaiser Medical Center (Estimated to cost me ~$800-1500 because I’m in network), presented my Kaiser Insurance, and today I received a bill for my surgery.

At the insurer I’d just signed up for, which covers nothing.

                                        $11,340.

So, today I learned that if you’re double-insured, it doesn’t matter what card you provide. They just pick whatever’s considered “primary”, and since this policy is in my name only, it’s my “Primary” and my partner’s is “Secondary.”

Like most of you, I don’t have 11 grand laying around, so I’ve been in desperate phone calls to figure out if that’s what I actually owe, or if the Primary will bill the Secondary, and who I owe what, but it’s all “pending” and won’t clear for 10-15 days. I’m sick to my stomach with worry, and loathing every last part of the healthcare system. We’re paying for two insurances and ended up with the worst elements of both.

Be very careful about being double-insured. It can, apparently, fuck the everloving hell out of you.
