No shame there. DeVito is a great actor, but just isn’t the same without the lekku

RE: Two Birds: One Stone
@Popes Having done this? Ares is by far the easiest.
Channeling is a challenge though. From what I found there were a few options that didn’t involve starting from scratch:
Tat was generous enough to let me use the code for Spirit Lake with her magic system implemented with FS3. Had to do some modification but worked pretty great. Can check with her on that.
Fate plugin for Ares. The Dresden Files RPG is Fate based and really easy to adapt the magic system to channeling.
If you really don’t like Ares but are on board with the Fate system? Somewhere on the internet may still be the Dresden File RPG code for Penn or TinyMUX that was used to run that Dresden Files MU I forgot the name, but was fully implemented and pretty slick. Edit: Dark Spires was the name of the MU. The runner of it was active that that other MU board place but I’m not sure if they are here. They may know where to get the code if you ask around.

@Popes I started to with… I don’t know what their name is here, but then I got mugged by real life and had to call it quits. Had most of the building and channeling stuff done too.
Someone definitely should though.

(Actually, I just play CS2 instead.)
Does CS2 even have shortrels?

RE: Book Recs
The Blacktongue Thief by Christopher Buehlman was, in my opinion, excellent.
The Daughter’s War by Buehlman came out this summer and is a prequel to The Blacktongue Thief. Very different than the Blacktongue Thief, but very good.
The Bright Sword by Lev Grossman. Another take on the Arthorian legend. If you enjoyed the Magicians you’ll probably like this

I learned if there’s no live and organic aspect to my RP, it fizzles. I may as well write-write – bummer.
I’m taking this as async vs live? I’m think I’m one of the odd ducks that can be just as in the moment with an async when its my turn to pose as a live one.
This may be a sort of RP survival mechanism since having the time to do actual live RP is such a rarity though.

RE: Tuomo, Leo, Theo (Clarion's playlist)
I think I only had a couple of scenes with Sidney, but always wondered what happened to that guy.
Would laze about and ignore plot with again. Glad to see you’re still kicking around

RE: MU Peeves Thread
I have given serious thought recently to having ChatGPT or similar fill out chargen apps for me. I just can’t bring myself to do it. I’ll RP until I pass out but write a background? Going on month 4 and no progress.

I stopped poking at it because everyone told her not to
Maybe this was already a thing and I just missed it but I feel like secrets needed a big disclaimer telling you to ignore other players when they told you this.

RE: The Arx Secrets Thread
With my schedule being basically the exact opposite of most GMed events I never really understood how to engage and develop my characters secrets.
Cicero started off with the ability to make steelsilk. One piece every month! This was back before resources so that was a pretty big deal though very slow burn. That ability got Eaten and replaced with the ability to see scary shadow things. That was neat, but the side effects of the ability resulted in Cicero being very unfun to play so I had him killed off. I wish I had stuck it out and figured out how to work with staff on adjusting it to make it a better experience.
Jhond’s secret was that the Smiling Shadows owed him a favor. Whenever I tried to engage with that one other PCs would say No, don’t do anything with that, and I foolishly listened and never did.
Jhond’s other secret was that he could sing better than Gianna.
