Ever since I saw the @bb that said ‘people may have a different real age than the one on the site’ I have assumed I am one of these eternally youthful sorts, PROBLEM SOLVED.

I am trying to find out if any of the languages I know are supposed to be SUPER SEKRIT/will get me killed for advertising that I know them, and also my inner baby Tolkien nerd needs like… a list of all the languages, and while I’m not saying they need to hire a linguist to invent all these new languages… I must know more!

@sao and @Roz, maybe @Narson (I don’t know how much he knows about languages) in my experience are very knowledgeable about all things Arx and could probably help you know if they are secret or not. I haven’t seen any of them, especially Narson who I’ve known for years, se what they know OOC on an IC level.

@icanbeyourmuse I did some more digging and searching for terms in my clue list, and it looks like they’re all safe.

… but also I should request, anyway. Ys is an IC languages MEGA NERD, so like. Asking for deets would also help play the character.

I don’t think LANGUAGES will get you killed but neither of my characters have the linguistics skill so it is possible there is a secret cabal of tongues about which I know nothing.

@sao Just… Noah posted an ad for ‘come teach me languages!’ so I did not want to accidentally go ‘Sure, I know these languages, which include HIGH DEMONIC’ or something like that.

To add to this - I would love a list of languages that one can learn. It could be marked if they are secret languages and not taught.

I would just like to know the common ones or the helpful ones to have.

@RightMeow It varies so much on the character it’s better to ask us via +request and we can tell you what we think is appropriate, or you can offer suggestions and we can let you know same.
