I’m curious about something and I figured I’d ask:

You’re deep in a long scene and it’s really good, so good you’re not really willing to devote attention to anything else at the time, but the pangs of hunger hit you. What snacks are your go to in this situation?

For myself, I keep a bag of almonds or trail mix at my desk and grab that. If I have just posed and have a bit before people expect me to pose again, I might run to the kitchen and get some string cheese.

What is everybody else doing when hunger strikes in the middle of a good scene?

@MisterBoring Peanut Butter-filled Pretzels from Coscto.

Sometimes also one of the kid’s string cheeses. But mostly the PB Pretzels.

@Roadspike That’s a good one too, but as much as I like them, they’re sort of an impulse buy for me at the grocery store.

Straight up some days we have a whole drawer in our fridge devoted to Sargento snack trays.

Love some cheese and crackers. Slice it up, get some good quality, rosemary and/or olive oil crackers, go to town. If I happen to have an apple or something, slice that up super thin to give a little sweet crunch layer.

But usually I’m lazy, so just cheese and crackers.

Protein shake, peanut butter, frozen custard, and coffee concentrate in a bullet blender.

Or, if I’m REAL lazy, protein shake and coffee concentrate.

                We're all mad here.

The snack of all gaming champions, both tabletop and video: Cheetos. With a Mountain Dew to drink, because it compliments my X-TREME hobby that involves sitting at a table and/or computer for hours at a time.

After you cast Magic Missile at the darkness?

Pffft, my character is back at the bar, so that he can do the girls there. Also, it’s not the darkness you must be wary of; it’s the gazebos.

I’m just trying to picture how you all do the shopping when it comes to the snacks, under the assumption that everyone wants something specific to them.

                          Okay, Brennan.

As for myself, if I know I’m going to be in for a long session (be it tabletop, MUing, therapy, whatever) I’ll cook up some asparagus and broccolini in some herb butter – even when cooled down they’re delish if cooked properly.

Else I’ll eat cabanossi by the mile.

@dvoraen This is more true than not. I go to Trader Joes and buy a shelf full of pickle chips for Roz, a bag full of mochi rice nuggets for Pto, and all the focaccia bread Yam could want.

I was literally eating almonds when that entire thing happened and giggled.

I couldn’t find a good GIF that was either:

                                OH NO THEY’RE BACK AGAIN
                                or
                                some sort of cashier meme

I was very disappointed by the results I searched for.

More on topic: I generally have a variety of snacks (not all at the same time):

                                • drink: usually soda, but not always
                                • savory: popcorn, peanuts, snack tray (meat/cheese/misc), chicharrones, pickles, other veggies + dip (broccoli or carrots, usually)
                                • sweet (rare): brownie bites or a baked good with icing
                                • honorable mention: this feta salad (feta w/ kalamata and green olives)

@Tez is who they warned us about in math class.

a man in an orange sweater is pushing a shopping cart full of groceries
