people who have their work life and personal life split so that they don’t remember the other side
That’d be a fucking blessing.
There’s a whole show about how it really kind of isn’t…
God, if only I could remember what it was called…
I feel like it’s right there in front of me.
<.<

See I think even asserting what the show is about in some specific terms takes some of the power out of the many red herrings and competing themes.

Except for your work self.

I guess I feel like everything I said is the most basic of descriptions of the premise! And aren’t items that are challenged.

I think this is an interesting debate but I also can’t illuminate my position without doing the very thing so I concede my minority perspective.

My work-self is already fucked.

Severance is AMAZING. Like — one of the best things I’ve seen in years.
Agreed!
I started watching it, and at about episode three I recommended someone else in the house watch it because it was so good. They started it after me and finished it before I did because they got so caught up in it.

The new DCU plans announced by James Gunn are certainly not just going to be about TV shows, but since they encompass it as well as movies and video games I guess I’ll stick the link in this thread.
… How do you feel about it?
-
@Arkandel absolutely WILD that they canned nearly everything/everyone existing and decided to kick the new era off with…ezra miller’s flash?
Scary swamp thing might be cool.
-
@Arkandel DC has a long way to go to prove to me they plan to stop apologizing for their IPs. If the next few movies come off as sincere rather than apologetic, then sweet, awesome. Still doesn’t mean they’ll be good but at least I won’t think the company is being run by twelve-year-olds trying to pass for sixteen-year-olds.
-
If you like creepy as fuck podcasts that based on real events narrated by the people who experienced them, I recommend Radio Rental.

I have no faith in Gunn’s ability to make a successful DCU. I can’t even get remotely excited about that Batman movie even though i’ve been waiting desperately for them to introduce Damian Wayne. But I know it’s just going to be another let down with yet another slow motion recap of Batman’s mother’s pearls falling in the alleyway. And if Gunn’s at the helm of a Superman movie - lol, I can’t even begin to imagine what that would look like but it’s going to be a travesty for sure.
And honestly? The fact that they STILL plan to release The Flash just makes me so sick to my stomach that I can’t even begin to care about the so-called DCU future, and this is coming from somebody who is a huge Michael Keaton fan and was SO excited to see him reprise his role.

Post Hell Dean in Supernatural can kiss my arse. Dislike.
-
Da Vinci’s Demons really feels like it takes place in a TTRPG or MU.
-
I don’t care about The Last Of Us. The games or the show. It’s not my thing.
However, a reaction channel I really like is doing the series, and I just got to the Nick Offerman episode. I wept. Ugly-cried. May have actually made myself sick from crying, but that’s probably a coincidence. And I would do it all over again because despite being wrung out like a kitchen sponge, I am in awe of the craft on display. As someone who only knows Nick Offerman’s comedy chops, I am awed by three tiny but profound pieces of acting that I had no idea were in him: the “huh?”, the giggle, and the face he makes on the couch. This man should have Golden Globes. Oscars. Probably a Nobel of some kind.
Now if you’ll excuse me I need to go drink something fortified with electrolytes.

@GF If you want some more Offerman dramatic roles, check out Devs.

Nick Offerman
That human is a treasure.

the giggle
That is my favorite part of his “acting”, or him as a human. I cannot express with words the joy that giggle brings me.

An author I follow on Fbook said it was one of the best episodes of television they’d ever seen, and I usually take that kind of talk with a big grain of salt even from people I admire but like…wow.
Even if you’re not a fan of zombie/survival genre stuff, the third episode is absolutely wonderful. A really powerful and very unexpected romance that yeah, will leave you ugly-crying by the end.

I’m watching Supernatural (yes, I know, but I didn’t watch TV then!) and I am just NOT OKAY with Evil!god!Castiel!!!
As much as I didn’t like soul-less Sam!!
