@Pavel Is that a mod voice? Fucking yikes.
No. I’ve pretty clearly established that I’d say it was mod voice, if it was mod voice.
I’ve also pretty clearly established that you can do as you want, but don’t get us involved.

ty for clarifying re: voice

On the same site that lists the ‘Cujo Cup’ (which I had to look up, jeeze that was silly). They very recently necro’d a 6 year old thread of someone asking about Star Wars RP mu*'s to mention AoA.
For those that can’t log in to that other place for no particular reason:
-
@CuriousGamer Yeah, and now there’s a link pointing here to see what all the fuss is about.
-
@Gasboy I didn’t do it! I mean, I would have. But they so rudely banned me, and never lifted it. But that’s a tale for a different thread.

Yeah, I noticed. :3 Place is a ghost town, recently.

lol, and might I add, lmao

wait wait wait.
if bossmek is Hadrix. Then if we go into his history, he was here talking about how he’d be WATCHING CAREFULLY how staff at United Heroes dealt with Claremont, who was basically-- in the same situation he is in now???
http://musoapbox.net/post/243861
Like, same exact thing. Guy accused as creeper by many people who is on staff, being protected by head staffer.
ETA: i guess he doesn’t think you guys need to look as carefully about how things get handled at AoA, but definitely needed to at UH. wonder what the difference is to bossmek there. hmmmm.

He took a learning experience and learned the wrong goddamn thing.

Right. Not that it matters, the game feels hollow
Anyways. The amazing Timejump today. Cujo is very much trying to convince people to speedrun CG
Probably to pretend the game isn’t dying.
Now, I also decided to walk around Nar. Found out that shops were moved… without consultation because you are just an ‘investor’ and… one of my alt was renamed. No consultation.
That is just me being bitter because changing descs and moving names is bad if YOU want to do it. Because… things were always like this for 20 years, open your own place. But Staff? Oh. Let’s give it the very much not overblown:
Blast Zone Exotic Arms
rather than the nice Missing Digits. Nope. They never even asked. Not that I play, really… it had been some 2 months since I played. Ever since the Timejump was announced my motivation was low. Why do I even log on? Probably to follow the game, to see what goes on. But it kinda… stings.
-
@Krautistanian Yeah, that would definitely sting. Sorry about that.
-
@Krautistanian Speaking of feeling hollow, we have this, which just hit the boards tonight:
======================<* 7: Game Announcements - 156 *>======================
Message: 7/156 Posted Author
The Future is NOW! Feb 25 2023 CujoAttention all players of Star Wars: Age of Alliances MUSH!
We are excited to announce that the 15 year time jump has finally arrived! The Staff has been hard at work preparing for this new chapter in our game, and we can’t wait for you to join us on this journey.
With the time jump comes age-ups for characters, along with XP boosts and other exciting changes based on player requests. Please note that these updates are not instant and will take some time to roll out, but we assure you that we are actively working on them.
We are thrilled to be exploring a more open-ended narrative with all of you, and we hope that you share our enthusiasm for the future of the game. This is an exciting opportunity for all of us to delve deeper into the Star Wars universe and create new stories together.
As always, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this transition. We look forward to seeing how your characters have evolved over the past 15 years and can’t wait to see where the story takes us.
We also hope that you’ll consider new alts in the new era, with groups like the Sith Empire, Rebellion, Jedi Order, and Mandalorians all actively recruiting members with perks and benefits for joining now on offer, from lower +nom costs, to free starting armor sets. If interested, ask Staff for information!
Thank you for your continued support of Star Wars: Age of Alliances MUSH, and may the Force be with you all!

So much empty enthusiasm! How can anyone say this game isn’t the bestest evar?! (Hint: by reading with their eyes open)
Also, recruitment posts are getting thrown around. You can tell when a group has no headwiz of its own enthusiastic enough to make a recruitment post; Cujo will do the posting. Since he’s made two Resistance recruitment posts, the only ones not made by other staff to date, I have a feeling the game will fall long before the Sith Empire does.
At least nobody can say the NR/Resistance playerbase (non-staff) aren’t smart enough to spot a con job.
-
Imagine gutting a 22 year old game because rather than punishing a creeper you made them staff instead.
-
@kalakh Sadly, not completely gutted yet. But hope remains.
-
@Warlander Obviously there’s always a chance at a turnaround, but even if this considerable blow doesn’t actually make the game crumble, it’s proof positive that it’s ultimately destined for it.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from my time in gaming, it’s that people like this simply do not change, because changing one’s behavior requires honest introspection and acknowledging that such behavior is both unacceptable and the root cause of why no one wants to game with them. It sure as shit won’t happen when they’re being shielded from any and all consequences while the people pointing out their behavior are the ones being punished.
Having a player like this, let alone multiple, let alone in a position of power, is poison for any game. The game will either slowly rot or out and out drop dead.
-
@kalakh Having seen SerenityMUSH, a game very comparable to Area of Assholes that deserved to collapse under the tonnage of its own abusive staff stupidity within a year, last around a decade, I’m inclined to think this place will die by slow rot. Possibly for the second time.

That one was the plan for a bit anyways, I am afraid. Like, make the SE unbeatable before excitement.
Speaking of no headwiz. The leader of the Sith is Darth Omen, since Darth Ferren was one of the players they banned

A faction leader that’s the character equivalent of vaporware named Darth Omen is a little painfully on the nose.
-
@kalakh Yup. I mean, I suspect it is Banshee, who got his old Force-Twink back, but still.
-
Cujo’s recent board posts read like something put out by the EA marketing department. And given what the rebels have to work with, and what they’re up against, the Sith Empire will be ruling the galaxy until the game shuts down for sure. Whenever that might be.
There’s few GM’s left at this point and the actual remaining playerbase is a lot smaller than it’d seem from looking at +who on there as the logins are massively inflated by alts. And that’s not even factoring in players who continue to log in despite not actually playing. There’s a few players that have been a bit more active lately than they were before, but most of the game is pretty much staff + Kora clique on their various alts at this point. And Jallo’s player if you don’t count him in that group, but he might as well be. Can count on any events going forward to be comprised of them on one of their alts and one or two other players.
Also, Hadrix on his staff bit seems to run the game as much as, if not more than, Cujo at this point so of course he wasn’t going anywhere.
