@Roz my phone autocorrects to “asynch” sometimes. sometimes i catch it, sometimes i don’t, i guess if that’s what makes people not play with me it’s probably mostly their loss. i do admit that my teeth still grind to every “could of” or “should of” though, so i get it.

@mietze lol i promise it has never actually kept me from RPing with anyone. (what will keep me from RPing is having to do async, which i’m terrible at.)

Right after joining three new games I turtled down into a depressive void due to some rl and health issues. And now I’m too ashamed of flaking on people to get back into RP-slash-I have no idea how to get back into crap.

Life eats all of us on far too regular bases. But for real. Any of them I’m also on? Just poke, and I will find reasons to catch you up and pull you back.
Your being around makes games better. It’s never any issue to catch you back up again to things when you have capacity and wish to get back into stuff.

@Cobalt i have periods of this (also experienced a brief one kicked off by a very depressing experience with a rando). But at least with the play partners and acquaintances i have now its perfectly fine bc most of them are going to be there too at some point. I bet all of the folks you interacted with on the new places feel the same way. Hopefully they’ll reach out or you can slip back in soon if that’s what you’d like to do. But I think most long term mushfolk understand. Doesn’t make it easier but you’re not alone.

I am friends with so many flakes
Every time they return I am genuinely delighted to see them though. There is never, ever a time I do not want to welcome back, greet, and RP with my flake friends.
The friend part weighs a lot more than the flake part. RL is a thing, mental stuff is a thing. I’m happy for any time of theirs that I get.

For real, I have zero concept of time when it comes to friendships. Time spent apart just doesn’t register. If you haven’t talked to me for four years, I will not be mad. My reaction will be “Ohhhh, shit, dude! How are you? Where have you been?!” with no anger or disappointment, just excited to see you.
So if you haven’t talked to me since 2014 or whatever, come say hi. I promise it’s fine.
