@Coin don’t know you that well, and I’m really glad I don’t. But I’ve seen the way you post and heard stories.
Oh, no. You’ve seen the way I post. That must mean I’m a horrible person to everyone in every situation.
And you’ve heard stories. Wonderful.
Who did I hurt? How did I hurt them? This is super neat, yo. Let’s go down this rabbit hole.

@Coin lol

Kay. When you’ve got something to say, speak up so the whole class can hear you. Because this waving vague fucking commentary about games and people because you’ve heard things is the kind of behavior that hurts this hobby the most.
-
@Testament We heard these exact same accusations slung around on MSB for a million years too.
‘Multiple people tell stories about how all of this ONE GROUP sucks, no I won’t even name who is in the group or what the stories are, but they are all talking about it so therefore I mean, it must be true’.
You can’t blame people for getting defensive based on that. Either give people constructive concrete issues or-- idk, man. this is a wendy’s.

I wandered off the Network even though I loved my character and the concept and the stories. No staff toxicity that I can recall. There were some other players I didn’t really want to deal with who were super active and they felt ubiquitous whether or not they actually were and my energy levels were super low so it was way easier to just drift away than trying to do things.
This is some serious Coin beef you’re showing and I’m super curious.

If you just want to tell stories with your friends, run a private game.
but DON’T TELL ANYONE or you will be read to filth regardless.
-
@hellfrog this is why just promising you’re going to create a game and never doing it is the best strategy. top notch.
-
@foksthery
Seriously wtf is your deal? -
@Meg i’m waiting with bated breath
i’m probably gonna die
-
@Meg Trends come and go, but vague booking never dies.

Talking about the games I am going to make but never do has kept me engaged here for almost a decade soooooo clearly it is the best
-
@Third-Eye I apparently am full of piss and vinegar today and feeling the need to be weird. Blocked the dude, cleaned up my garbage, and I’m gonna go touch grass.
-
-
And now we’ll never know.
It’s gonna keep me up at night, damn.
-
Ah, now the weirdass tantrum in the other thread makes sense. Yeah, I’ve known the dude who runs The Network for more than 20 years, and I can and will say with 100% absolute certainty that they are not toxic. He’s solid, good people. One of like five people I will give a resounding recommendation as to the stability of. He’s not perfect (nobody is), but he’s a good dude.
-
lol of all the people, the guy running the Network is one of the last ones I’d imagine being called toxic

Right? like. the assumption must be that nobody has ever met him? because, uh. It’s sort of like “man that kermit the frog guy is such a jerk, he’s so rude all the time”. Like. What? huh?

I don’t even know him very well. But we’ve stumbled across each other on a few games and he’s always been perfectly polite and pleasant to me and seemingly every other person I’ve watched him interact with.

There’s bound to be a twitter thread extolling that exact point, honestly.
It comes from, in my experience, viewing any behaviour you don’t like or that causes someone to act against you as ‘toxic.’ This instead of the more sensible idea that you just don’t get on with someone, or they think you’re a prat.

@Pavel If it’s not involving the YouTube commentary community, I’m not interested. Because those channels are far too much of a guilty pleasure.
