Yesterday, I was reminded of the cardinal rule of playing politics on games: go in with a way to force the other side to follow through on their deals. Because if you don’t, they will change their mind with 0 consequences.
… which leads to the inevitable ‘even more people will avoid rp with you for daring to use DICE in the SOCIALS’ and I am just so very bleh about everything at the moment. Save me from the inevitable burnout, plz.

I’m not sure if you meant to phrase it like that, but I don’t really agree. What kind of deals are you talking about? You sound like you’re talking on an OOC level, but there’s also an IC element here, and I’m not sure if you’re saying that people shouldn’t be able to change their mind on RP they said they’d do, or what.

@Jumpscare I could have phrased it better, yeah. I had a big response with specific details typed up, but the gist is I meant ‘go in with IC ways to enforce their IC promises.’
The OOC bit I mentioned is just the part of my brain going ‘people are going to avoid RP with you because you will ICly curse them if they ICly break an IC promise’, and like… could be wrong, but it is a mood I’m stuck in.

@farfalla If I hadn’t done dark fantasy post-apocalyptic, I would’ve done Sci fi post-apocalyptic. I was very torn because I really miss space based games.

Someone get me working space trucker code and body swap/stat change code, and I’ll have an Eclipse Phase game set up as soon as someone also hand-holds me through setting it up.

Now I just need to do everything else. Easy. I’m basically half done.

like, at least vaguely holding to canon in some way and maybe resembling the actual medium instead of replacing it entirely with an 800 page fanfic magnum opus that is clearly superior bc while fools might waste time assembling lettuce and meat and cheese and bread to form a burger the true genius understands you can put them all into a blender
