This is not most perverts! This is my stand. My line in the sand. Being a pervert does not make you a sex pest. I am a pervert. I like the spicy typing and getting weird. I also always make sure that my partner is into it and comfortable and knows they can walk away at any time with no consequences or hard feelings.

Sex pests do none of these and are the bane of this hobby.

I’m just echoing some shit that’s been said already. Mostly in solidarity with the fact that this isn’t just me. I hate looking at +where and seeing people who are my friends doing stuff together without me. I know this is selfish, but my brain worms tell me ‘Of course they’re playing without you. You suck shit and should just go cry in a corner you pathetic waste of space.’

Then I go cry in a corner as a pathetic waste of space instead of doing the smart thing and asking to join in because I hate being a bother to people I like. Which just reinforces the brain worms. Which makes the cycle worse.

I gotta get better at asking for RP.

So my friend talked me into coming there to play with them. I have yet to be sex pested, there’s events and stuff going on, and besides being small and convoluted, I haven’t had much issue.

Except BOY is this game in need of catchup mechanics for new players. Badly. More XP or something. There’s a lot of dinosaurs on this game, and if you aren’t one, time to farm +noms for xp.

And do not get me started on the force user shit. Starting as a padawan is a great story, but holy shit do you suck ass at space wizardry.

Honestly the three big issues with HA are thus:

The cult of Vorpal, who is a piece of shit asshole who drove my good friend from the game for the crime of saying ‘Maybe don’t be toxic about shipping comic book characters?’ regarding that group’s apparently vile hatred of Beast Boy x Raven.

Chaucer in general, who is a shithead asshole AND a bad writer with terrible ideas about how things should work all the while being a condescending fuckwad.

Finally, somehow the least egregious of the three being the fact that NOTHING HAPPENS. There’s no metaplot, there’s capped scenes run for cliques and groups and if you’re not in on them fuck you, drink coffee with randos to keep your character.

A Lords and Ladies game set a few years after the end of the Wheel of Time.

You’ve got your nations and factions doing all of the politics and parties.

You get your Aes Sedai and Asha’man push and pull.

You’ve got a couple Forsaken and the dwindling bands of Shadowspan trundling about.

This is a great idea. Someone should make this.

I played there for a bit and just walked away recently. I played the most recent Jason Todd and a handful of others. My beefs are not massive, but they are many. Like how cliquey the game is, that the activity requirements exist and yet there is nothing to do but social rp on a game about superheroes. How you can’t do anything quote-unquote big without permission.

Oh, and also they have all these AU folks around but told me that Terry FUCKING McGinnis wasn’t viable for some bullshit answer. The real reason being it would hurt the Batman player and staff pet’s fee fees.

I might still be mad.

Happy New Year, all. Welcome to 2025. I hope it goes well for everyone.

In the spirit of fresh starts, I wanted to ask if there could be an update on the state of Liberation? We all know the game has been basically frozen from the top down for a while now. Many of us genuinely sympathize that RL can happen and take us away from our beloved hobbies.

But it’s been a long time now. Confusion has grown into concern and that concern is now turning into unrest. I know several players who have already left and several more who are looking to leave. Not because they don’t like this game or the people in it, but because we’ve been left in the dark for so long with no clue if the game is abandoned, on hiatus, rebooting, coming back…anything.

Some official word from on high would do wonders to help answer the questions that have been floating around since this past summer. I hope everything is okay…but I suspect it isn’t, and my heart goes out to anyone who is suffering hard times right now.

We don’t need personal details, either. Simply the answer to this burning question: “Is Liberation going to reopen to activity anytime soon?”

I have a sordid tale.

First off, I was one of the ones who said the game had changed for the better. I’m sorry, I was wrong, but not in the way you might think.

This tale goes way back. Way back to the days when United Heroes exploded due to the actions of, well Ruby. That crazy bitch is still around. Still on HAM as Rogue and Wonder Woman. She’s also on AoA as Rey. For a long time, she seemed fine. Wildly different from the crazy control beast she is over on the cape game. I was wrong.

I was in a scene with her and a handful of others, just hanging out in one of the Jedi enclaves. A little slice of life social thing to farm some XP and be low key. My Jedi, who is a former Sith who was brought out of it by some fantastic RP by the, now former, Ben Solo (who is an old friend of mine and a solid dude who features more in a little bit) who was functioning as her Jedi teacher. The question was ICly asked where he was, and a flippant joke was made about him being in the wilderness, flying a ship somewhere or with his girlfriend.

About twenty minutes later, Ben and said OC girlfriend (who was one of Mael’s alts) get paged by Cujo. A TWO AND A HALF HOUR rant about how FCs aren’t supposed to play with OCs one on one, where they should not be in romantic relationships with OCs. Where they in the name of all that is holy should not get MARRIED and have CHILDREN (which wasn’t even a THING with those two) because BY GOD that would give an ORIGINAL CHARACTER undue LEVERAGE over the PRECIOUS THEME.

The precious theme of foreverwar with the Sith who, despite having like maybe half the number of PCs as the Rebellion, aren’t allowed to actually permanantly lose. There was a couple board posts made, outlining the policy or whatever. And it calmed down for about a day.

Til Saturday when Cujo @newpassed Mael. Because she stressed him out.

At this point, Ben and Mael are walking, I’m walking, and it wouldn’t surprise me if others are gonna follow. Ben has been DRIVING some real good RP on that bit and showing up to stuff on his Mando. And people are gonna ask questions about why a handful of real active players just aren’t there anymore.

Adding on to this, Cujo is, apparently, trying to make Ruby and someone else staff. That someone else is the player of Jean Grey on HAM. Also a crazy fuckhead control freak. So that’s a good time.

In other news, anyone got an AoA DB dump, I want to make a revenge game. With plot, and staff that don’t treat it like it’s a Pern game from 1996.
