@Cobalt You have some pretty clear support here, by not just your friends but the community. So let me have you answer some questions to yourself.
- Will going over there to try to refute anything actually gain you anything?
- Are you giving in to what Macha wants more than yourself?
- Do you have anything to gain by answering their questions?
- If you did go there to answer things - why are you doing it?
Macha & the MatchaFriends will try to bait you (that’s been pretty obvious, if laughable). They will try to talk in technicalities - You banned me but X person was doing this and I feel was worse, why didn’t you ban them too, or first, or give them a second chance? Blah blah. You made your judgement call. You have the support of our community here. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I support you. Many have come out to support you. You helped to out a problem player, and lots of people have stood up and said ‘I had a problem with this person too!’.
You dont have to refute anything. You dont have to say boo to them. If you want to - sure. But dont feel you ever have to. You made a judgement call, and that call was the right call for you.
Macha is going to (and is currently) underground and discording, PMing, and plotting away at different people. It wont stop. It’ll continue for the next however many months, or years.
You do you Cobalt. You got this.

For real, I wouldn’t waste the time responding over there, even just spitefully. Interacting over there at all just validates them that their opinions have weight and value in this community and they just… don’t. Just like how no ‘conservative Twitter wannabe’ has been able to succeed, they only want an echo chamber as long as they have an audience to show it off to. I just don’t see any reason to be that audience for them.

Derp’s knee-jerk assumption was that YOU are the bad actor in this scenario, and everyone agreed - right up until you walked into the room, when suddenly they realized they weren’t just talking about someone who couldn’t defend themselves. Then Ghost and Macha did their frantic back-pedaling, and Derp of course ignored the fire he just started.
They’re not there for discussion. They have BANNED everyone who actually wants to discuss things.

I’m still pretty shocked Derp made up a multiparagraph theory wholecloth and tried so hard to sell it. Why? What was the benefit of that kind of speculation? I realize I’m speculating here, myself, but he’s more than welcome to come here and provide the answers.
Maybe if he’s hesitating or resistant he should ask himself why and why someone he’s just accused in a pretty egregiously slut shamey way might not be willing to do the same thing.
We’re all storytellers and we just can’t seem to fucking stop making up stories about people instead of characters. This whole situation feels like two grossly manipulative people dragging everyone else in, at this point.
This thread is good, though, as gross as some of the discussion has gotten. I know a few more people I definitely don’t want involved in anything I do.
ETA: Also if any of you are reading over there and haven’t put Ghost on ignore yet who still can, honestly, do so, I missed none of the conversation without his input.

Whenever I hear that awful people like Macha have friends I just wonder what kind of person stays in the orbit of someone like that. Ghost answers that question. Imagine being a simp for Macha.

That was the first moment I was sorry I was banned (apart from every time I try to find something on that mess of a board because the bad search is even worse if you aren’t logged in) because I would’ve enjoyed enthusiastically and repeatedly reporting Derp’s own post for violating his ‘you need to bring receipts’ and ‘no personal attacks’ rules.

The whole part of “my experiences with Cobalt tell me she just wanted Isaac for herself” is hilarious because I had Isaac on my “to be watched” (and honestly should have just banned him) list.
But it feels like a reflection of Derp himself. I’m not gonna lie, I’ve likely done some mean girl shit over someone I wanted to RP with in the past. I started mushing when I was 17 (if you don’t count my brief stint on a MUCk at 13). I was also living with someone who groomed me and kept me isolated from any sort of social contact out of mushing.
But I’m not in that situation anymore, and I’ve had a lot of time to grow and heal and try to be a better person.
I don’t think Derp has ever really sat himself down and tried to improve himself. I can’t say that banning someone for getting too close to a potential TS pattern, but it’s telling he thinks that of a known woman game runner.

Isn’t that the same here? With the majority assuming bad faith of anyone who tries to explain or defend themselves? I mean, there is a substantive difference in that, at least here, the admin won’t ban someone for having a differing opinion from them, but the same attitude pervades.

I like to think it’s more that we believe the accuser until evidence is presented otherwise. I don’t know if it’s true but that’s how I generally try to act.

@Cobalt I’m not you and don’t mean to suggest that my response is or should be your response. I’m just saying, clicking the link to read that MSB thread was nothing but a bad time for me. I was horrified at the amount of cheerleading for rape culture flourishing over there; I was furious at how insultingly transparent the dogwhistles are; I was hurt by how blatant and obvious the hatred of women is; and I was disappointed in myself personally for letting curiosity overwhelm my common sense about letting a divorce be a divorce.
If you think there’s any good to be had from justifying yourself to those people, then I will 100% support you in your efforts however you need me to support you. But if you’re not yet committed to going over there, then my advice is to not reward them with your time and energy. Let them feel like they got the last word, let them congratulate themselves on “owning you with facts and logic,” whatever. At least it will shut them up.

I logged out and since im also on a new phone it’s require resetting my password to log back in. Which, in the end, is too much work to deal with just to flip them off.
Im not going to answer their bullshit question about whether or not my PCs were in a relationship with Isaac, because I shouldn’t have to.

I absolutely do not want to get into any sort of discussion about whether or not someone is lying about having experienced something like that. Let’s just not. Please.
Someone can experience traumatic things and still go on to do shitty things. We don’t have to get into an invalidation of whether someone’s trauma happened.
