It isn’t a joke. The thread had served its purpose. It’s also not censorship, you can quite clearly still see it and talk about its contents elsewhere if you really want.

I feel like a thread lock should be reserved for when there’s like … an actual harm to be prevented or something. Otherwise you’re just making extra work for yourself.

@Pavel @hellfrog still has not been banned HERE, though, so the thread is an accurate description. It should only be locked in the event of her doing some fuckery HERE that gets her banned from here, too.

Would it perhaps be better served to throw all the MSB-related conversation into a single thread, rather than have it spread out?

I can actually understand a general desire to have the MSB drama consolidated a bit, because some people are definitely not gonna want to linger in it and will want to just move on, and limited threads means stuff is easy to set to ignore. But we can probably just manage that as general users as everything starts to settle in and get comfy in a new environment.

Yeah I feel this myself It made me a bit gun-shy about posting too much at first (though some of that it just not being active on a MU at the moment), though it’s been cool to see familiar names pop up and it’s definitely cathartic to laugh about it. There’s a happy medium we can all of us find in time.

The threads about MSB will die down in a week or so as people get more distance from the situation (assuming, of course, nothing else blows up over there lol). Locking threads should really be used very very sparingly and only in the event that rules are being egregiously broken. Let the community decide what threads to participate in, what threads not to, and what threads will inevitably die.

Hi, guys:

YOU ARE RIGHT. When we permanently lock a thread, it will be a majority decision from the admin. And we’ll say it’s a decision from all of us and why we are making it.

If a thread DOES seem like it MIGHT need a cool down, then that will receive a temporary lock, which will ALSO be clearly called, but that is a decision that CAN be made by a single admin.

There won’t be any haha just kidding admin trolling of fake-locking threads. Transparency is important to me. HELLA IMPORTANT.
