When he was named, I knew I was leaving regardless because anyone who had been on MSB for any amount of time and didn’t predict that Derp would absolutely pull this kind of shit obviously wasn’t reading the same posts. Took days, lol. It was the entire reason I made a hog pit thread about him.

I engaged in a game of chicken, daring Gany to ban me for days. and days. and then I got banned for calling her a thumb.

@hellfrog See, I think the whole ‘meltdown banning half the active posters’ was all on Ganymede but the aftermath where Derp was basically like ‘I’m not going to tell you the rules because then you might try not to break them but if you do break these secret rules, me and friends will take turns dog piling you because you just should have known’ was totally on brand for him.

I will still forever be confused by how Gany acted in regards to all that initial banning. Maybe it was a control thing. Or maybe it was some kind of panic mode and pride prevents admitting fault.

I’m just guessing obviously, but it also just seemed so off. But, eh. Oh well, I suppose.

@Kestrel Well. That’s not a totally inaccurate interpretation of things. We were rather sick of the secrecy around the decisions as well as the decisions themselves.

That said… I’m getting rather tired of this “rebuild trust in our fractured community” bullshit that’s being peddled. We’re done with MSB, in general. We’ll trade information when it’s pertinent, but otherwise we’re two distinct and independent entities that just happen to be about the same niche hobby.

I dunno about money laundering, but I do know that in the past at least one erstwhile member of our community accepted financial assistance that was offered based on false assertions made by the recipient.

Which is a convoluted way of saying someone, allegedly, lied about a medical issue and received financial assistance from another person for said issue.

Everything is politics. It’s just not necessarily partisan politics.
