Really fighting the insecure brainworms the past few weeks and I am. Just tired and feeling bad. My brain keeps looking right past the established, meaningful, and fun IC connections I have with chill people I like to rp with to poke at the ones that just haven’t quite worked out and insist that it’s THOSE ones, those are the ones that count.

This isn’t a new peeve, I’m just kinda reflecting how awful I felt a month ago about a very niche situation and how the feeling has completely faded from my mind. In the end the situation walked away from me (the game fell through) so I no longer had to deal with it, lol. I’m not sure what lesson I’ve learned here.
I guess everything is fleeting. -

New pet peeve:
When there are MULTIPLE plot threads for people to pursue, but instead, other characters decide that the most interesting thing to do is ICly and OOCly gossip about your character. YAY WoD.

This is a stupid peeve and I get it.
I have been getting more active again (yay). Last night I was in a scene with people and playing, having fun. Then I dropped some adult humor implication comments.
The scene was great. People were OOC haha’ing at it (and IC). Here is my peeve.
My brain. I have had so many bad experiences with people on games that I immediately felt my stomach drop and panic set in. I worried that I just invited another Ruiz/DWOPP/etc. I don’t think these people are them, but my brain started to panic. If it is them, is my making these comments going to justify it? Or if it isn’t and I yet again get found by one of these people are they going to help them justify?
I hate that in this community this has happened and that my brain now thinks like this. I hate that this goes on in my brain. Now, I"m not letting them win by taking my hobby that I enjoy from me, but I am still peeved this is in my thought process.

More of a lol than a peeve but:
When attempting to get me fired from storytelling for a game— maybe make sure the game runner hasn’t known me for going on 20yrs and knows my strengths and faults way better than you and how to manage them?

@Cobalt “People trying to get me fired/kicked off of a game” is definitely a peeve, though.

Can people still get people ‘fired’ from a game? I thought we were at the point where you only get ‘fired’ if you did something wrong and it’s know you were a Wrongie McWrongWrong

Okay, as the game runner in question, I totally want to spill some tea.
The guy in question contacts me out of the blue on Discord to tell me that he won’t play my game if Cobalt staffs there. I don’t really remember this guy at all, and what’s in our chat history is that he remembers me fondly from Arx before he got banned from there.
So he’s not going to play my game because of one of my longtime friends, so I’m like, “Okay, cool.”
He continues to message me that my game will fail because he and all of his friends won’t play because Cobalt bans people, and I’m like, “Nice. I’m enjoying my small game with its awesome community.”
He ceaselessly insists that the game won’t last more than a month (it’s already lasted years, if in a somewhat dormant state), that I’ve doomed myself by hiring her, that he cannot play because if she sees his IP she’ll ban him as a matter of course, and that he’s just so sad because the game looks great and has such potential but a full third of Ares players simply won’t play a place where Cobalt has a staff bit because she’ll power game.
So this is how I learned that @Cobalt is like a ward against creepers.
Also, I asked my players if they wanted to have open sheets, and they were kind of mixed. Not a big deal to them. We’re not very crunchy. But it’s Ares. That’s something I can do in a moment if my game community so desired.

Having to pause a scene because the other person is tired, having to delay past the work week, and then having to decline an unpause because I’m tired, and meanwhile the frozen time is becoming more and more nonsensical because of advancements in the metaplot that limit what can actually happen in the scene rrrrg.
Why must sleep and work exist?
