Having to pretend that meetings that have marginal use are actually useful. Meetings that don’t serve the purpose they are designed for.
And then when I raise it with my boss she gets annoyed because “they’re good for background”. What’s better is having time to deliver what I need to do or meetings that are useful for what I do, not listening to a colleague bore on about projects I’m not involved with and will never be involved with.

Currently playing chicken with my company as they try to coerce us back into the office. I’m prepared to find a new job if they force my hand but I would prefer not to. Dear Walmart executive we hired right before all this back to the office shit started, suck an entire fart right out of my asshole.

Was just catching up with emails and had a bunch “change your password” from yesterday.
Turns out yesterday was “change your password day” or something.
I thought I got hacked.

Today I learned that in Texas they sell pickles at the movie theater.
I’m outraged this isn’t a thing in NY.

@tsar I’m told non-American theaters often serve alcohol.

American ones do too! They just have to go through the hassle of getting a liquor license.

@GF It just depends on what part. I live in the US and I’m always a little shocked when I go to a theater that doesn’t serve alcohol.

Insomnia has been an absolute pain in my ass lately. I couldn’t sleep last night, was stuck staring at my ceiling for hours and had to slog my way through a hot day of feeling like shit from exhaustion then I had the first of my Grief and Loss counselling classes. It wasn’t heavy, but it was very ice-breaker heavy, which is tedious and anxiety-inducing.
It’s now three am. I’ve had three hours of restless sleep, and I have to get to school by eight (on the train by six-thirty).
I just want to be able to sleep.

Periodic reminder that accusing someone of virtue signalling is itself virtue signalling, because by doing it you’re signalling that you’re too virtuous to ever virtue signal.

If you were told last week by stakeholders that a communication to 7,000 employees needs to go out by February 7th…
Then maybe you should’ve told me that last fucking week, instead of messaging me and one of my peers at 11 a.m. on February 6th to tell us that this piece needs to be written, reviewed, approved, built out on our intranet, and added to our email digest. Acting like you’re somehow being magnamimous when you say that you’re so very understanding if we can’t get it done by tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. but need it to happen ASAP is not helping your cause, either, jackass.
