I honestly have so much affection for the people on Arx. But when I logged on with the oomph to RP my brain went, “It has been too long, it is too weird, and you don’t know what is going on, so don’t even try.”
The mind gremlins won so I didn’t rp but I really do like all you people.

@imstillhere this is the perfect place to employ the playing dumb tactic. Take it at face value: they are looking for RP! They have not specified who or what in any way. If they start being weird about it, ignore everything that isn’t a statement you can actually respond to and keep RPing unless/until it’s not fun. If they get weird-weird, report to staff! If they only wanted a cute girl and you show up instead, they’re fully capable of exiting the scene.

Somebody asked me to RP on a particular RP hook/behavior of theirs, then when I showed up to RP about it, they freaked out at me IC for invading their privacy. Mean stuff was said. Then at the end they were like “nah I’m not mad you just need to learn boundaries.”

Is it like…Sally told you oocly she wanted you to come rp about her bubble pipe collection and then when you showed up (at her invitation and knowledge oocly) with your bubble solution and bubble pipe so you could blow bubbles together she had a shitfit ICly and started icly accusing your pc of being some weirdo because how dare anyone even suspect she liked to blow bubbles in the first place?
I have definitely RPed with people both on Arx and elsewhere that loved to set traps so they could flounce off (usually to other people icly) or sharpen their claws on me but if someone does any kind of weird ooc thing like that that’s a hard pass for any rp after that.

@mietze Yeah basically. They came in another rp I was having, acted weird, paged me about how them acting weird was a hook. Then when I showed up next day like “why were you acting weird are you ok” it was all this drama of “how dare you pry into my business for your own personal curiosity.”

I figured it’s probably not worth reporting because it was all IC except the weird “it’s a hook!” page. But I definitely don’t want to reach out to them again.

No, that’s definitely behavior that I would want to see reported to me were I running a game. None of that was “IC”, all of the poor behavior was OOC. The player made the choice to invite you to a scene to which her character was going to react like this, knowing it in advance, and did not tell you.
It was an OOC PVP trap. You were baited into PVP OOCly. That’s not OK. She’s graveyard farming. Report it.
