I’m just bemused at a self identified kind, compassionate queer community member tossing around ‘retard’ as an insult. Man, I hope she was lying. It’s embarrassing to be in the same community as someone like that.

@TNP I’m not saying there are no queer people who would say, “I’m on the rainbow so you all owe me your support or else you’re bigots.” I’m just saying it makes more sense to me to assume she was lying about her identity in a really lazy attempt to gain a moral high ground.

Did the “LGBTQ+ community” ever have anything to do with this, or was it just some completely random thing she picked out to add an exciting new dimension to her screaming?

I think it’s a key part of Silent Heaven’s credo that they’re accepting, don’t appreciate bigotry, etc, etc. The poster was railing against a lack of acceptance for them, because they conflated “we accept the community” with “we will let the community do whatever.”

MOD VOICE: Do not claim someone else is lying about their personal identity for ‘points’, ‘moral high ground’ or anything else, or insinuate that they’re not ‘really’ whatever identity they profess. Doesn’t matter if it’s a current poster, banned poster, or J. Rando Person.
