@MisterBoring Nah, I’d do in nomine. Or something custom. And while furloughed Cobalt has time to do things… Furloughed Cobalt also has times for Legends ZA.
-
I’ve been plugging away at a framework that includes In Nomine, but with a chronicles of darkness hat, because I enjoy angels and demons and Pyrephox clued me into the system.

But faction RP is not for the faint of heart, and I’m a pretty soft yam. I keep imagining my dear friends getting displeased by the imbalance of it all. <<;

@Yam No Yam, I won’t be lead into temptation.
(Oh god, the temptation.)

So there is this program called MegaMek where you can do Battletech fights, and the people who maintain it are also working on a browser version that can maybe possibly be linked to either MU-side tracker of who owns what, or possibly to one of their other programs, MekHQ, that also tracks repair time and NPC/Characters who work on what, it’s fine.
So with all of that in mind, of course my brain skips away from Battletech back towards the less crunchy/more narrative Exalted: Essence rules (further complicated because the Infernals Kickstarter is starting up in a few days).
L5R is still on the list somewhere, the three are fighting for attention pretty regularly now, so for now I just poke at Ares code to try and make it go.

Exalted: Essence
I was so happy when Essence came out. I like Exalted as a setting, but omg are the mechanics of base Exalted so overly complicated.
-
Do. It!

-
@MisterBoring Overly complicated is fine, my issue was more the huge disparity between your Solar Tier and your Terrestrial Tier, which Essence does a pretty good job of closing down a bit.
-
@Jennkryst you cannot bait me with the idea of a BattleTech MUSH then suddenly waylay me with Exalted! All I want is to take a contract in my MAD-5M against some Capellans and drain two cases of Timbiqui Dark when I get back to the mechbay!
-
@Hobbie Get a way to stick MegaMek and maybe MekHQ on Ares and its more of a maybe? I have been trying to lure cool kids from a place to new place and Battletech was a probably no, but maybe actual maps will help, I dunno.
-
@Jennkryst You could always do the simplest thing. Have an Ares or MUSH instance spun up for the non-Mech stuff, and run a dedicated MekHQ box for the larger scale stuff, and just manually copy character data between the two.
-
@MisterBoring I mean sure, it just means I gotta be there to do it, which is fine. Im more worried about getting MegaMek to work for people who want to do simulated combat stompy-stomp.
